The Senator from Ford.

Is he the one who was in the Senate for fifty years and then his wife popped a squat for him? And his daddy was Senator before so basically that seat has been taken since Pearl Harbor?

He was in the Senate for a long arse time (too long). The guy you're thinking of was Rep. John Dingell and his country club wife, Debbie, who effectively inherited his seat and still holds it.

However Carl had a son, Sander, who was also a member of the House for too long. Sander subsequently had a son, Andy, who is now occupying his seat as of 2018.

We need anti-nepotism laws to break these dynasties.

Yes, Dingell. Whom Dr. Mrs. met on the Hill and said was actually a decent person. But JFC once you serve your brat, your bro, or your b-tch can't have your seat. Even Rome adopted anti-nepotism laws.

You guys are forgetting Dingell’s dad had the seat before him. The district has literally, since inception, always been represented by a Dingell.

J. R. Richard

During the Mets game tonight, Keith Hernandez talked about facing him. It was unsettling to hear Keith as impressed with somebody else as he is with Keith.

I remember watching J.R. pitch at Shea in those gorgeous Taco Bell Rainbow unis.

He was so freaking good and fun to watch -- in a time before every pitcher was 6-6 he looked about 11 feet tall out there.

J.R. Richard is in the "What might have been" Hall Of Fame. He was dominant in ways maybe a handful of other pitchers were. Would have been so nice to see him pitch 10 more years than we got to see. He struck out 600+ batters over two seasons in the late 70s at a time when most hitters loathed striking out and batters with 200 were unheard of. My guess is a guy with his stuff today might routinely strike out 15+ batters in every start and if he managed to throw 200 innings in a season today, he'd strike out 400+ easily.

Look at the length of his fingers on Ralph's pic. NBA hands
