For a while I confused Margot Kidder with Tracy Kidder. I was really impressed that an actress could write The Soul of a New Machine.

Former NYPD Chief of Detectives William Allee died Thursday morning of leukemia linked to his time spent at Ground Zero and the Staten Island landfill after the terror attack of Sept. 11, 2001.

Allee is the 24th member of the NYPD to die this year from cancer linked to the toxins from the worst terror attack in American history — the same number for all of last year.
