I was going to joke that the timing of her death was a ploy for Clinton's candidacy, but thought better of it because, well, or everything. Then to read that people actually believe it makes me think Flaggy gets stuck in some black well of thinking only to jump out and force upon us an exceptionally small splashing of a sad life's thought process.

Someone has an extremely faulty memory if they think the divisiveness from the opposition during Reagan or Junior was anything like what we saw under Obama. In fact making such a comparison makes me questions one's faculties.
I'm an eternal optimist though and hope that even if Trump passes through policies that make my hair stand-up that we might actually make it through the next 4 years taking a step forward toward being more civil. It's going to take liberals to make it happen so anything goes, but here's a toast to possibilities!

You'll have to explain how condoning hatred and injustice would be a "step forward"? Decent people standing by while others are harmed seems to be the opposite to me.

I think my posting history makes it clear that is the furthest thing from my mind. I'm not suggesting anyone sit on their hands, but I'd rather the opposition go beyond the methods we saw from the knuckle-draggers the past 8 years. Like I said I'm an optimist - possibly naive - but for once I'd like to see this country give it a try.

We don't have to sit on our hands. Massive nonviolent resistance. And I don't mean a bunch of college students set up a drum circle in front of the Circle K. I mean we all sign a petition for legislation, as directed by SCOTUS in Shelby, to restore the full power of the VRA, and when that doesn't happen Every Single Black Person who can afford to walks off the job on Monday, stays home with the kids, shops only for bare necessities; maybe invites their friends over for cards. No street protest. No interviews. No political discussions. Cough, cough, sorry I'm sick. Wait a week. When there is no action, Every Single White Person who can afford to walks off the job the following Monday. And we stay out until Congress passes a law and Trump signs it.
And once we've done it, it only gets easier.
