DC Sexual Assault Thread: We needed one...

Re: DC Sexual Assault Thread: We needed one...

Quelle surprise.

Republican Rep. Blake Farenthold of Texas used $84,000 in taxpayer money from an obscure government account to settle a harassment claim brought against him by his former spokeswoman. The sum became the subject of speculation after GOP Rep. Gregg Harper of Mississippi revealed in a private meeting that only one sitting member of Congress had used the Office of Compliance account to settle a sexual harassment claim.

Lauren Greene, the Texas Republican’s former communications director, sued her boss in December 2014 over allegations of gender discrimination, sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment.

Greene claimed in the lawsuit that another Farenthold aide told her the lawmaker had “sexual fantasies” and “wet dreams” about Greene. She also claimed that Farenthold “regularly drank to excess” and told her in February 2014 that he was “estranged from his wife and had not had sex with her in years.”

When she complained about comments Farenthold and a male staffer made to her, Greene said the congressman improperly fired her. She filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in the District of Columbia, but the case was later dropped after both parties reached a private settlement.

He’s the biggest dip**** that flaunts his dip****tedness so publicly.

Re: DC Sexual Assault Thread: We needed one...

Al, its time to go.

Senators are requesting he resign. They were following the ethics committee bit until now. With all the allegations popping up they've broken ranks. He's done.

EDIT: They've even doing a press conference on it.

Yeah if it is a subordinate claiming it then it is a completely different animal than just random women he took a picture with.

This one is different since he's categorically denying it.

But politics is perception. Franken is damaged now. It may be a total railroad job but he's becoming a risk. It's something to consider. We aren't grown up enough yet to be able to handle both legitimate accusations and lies, unfortunately. I have no idea how to best handle this, since the moral hazard in both directions is enormous.

Al is done. He's resigning tomorrow.

Terrific run as a senator for Minnesota, but he had to go.

And just a couple eeeks ago he was sitting in a chair thinking “I’m smart enough. People like me. I will be president”
