Re: Days Since Last Shooting II

And explosive are HEAVILY regulated. Thank you for making our case.

Fertilizer and diesel fuel purchased legally. The automobile was the delivery mechanism used to complete the nefarious activity.

Heller is not everything you think it is.
It effectively stripped the words "well regulated militia" out of the Second.
And yes, it upheld things like concealed carry permitting.

I know exactly what it is and what it is not. As long as we can do more under Heller and aren't we are doing nothing.

Re: Days Since Last Shooting II

Gun show loophole for one. Put back the mental health restriction that Trump rescinded for two. I could go on and on but let's start there.

How many firearms would that affect? Was that used in any recent nefarious activity? It's a curious loophole, but how often is it exercised?

A known abuser (wife, child) passed through the FBI's NICS and was allowed to purchase. Mental health restrictions would need to be included in the NICS that just let us down. How do we fix that?

Registry.

Next we put in the same laws that we have for cars. Gun Licenses for the guns. People licenses for those that shoot them. Then we put a mandatory insurance policy to the guns paid yearly (a tax) cause we can do that to help pay for all this ****. And when you say no, I say we do it for cars and it doesn't change you're right to own a gun at all. And then you'll say that you have a Constitutional Right and I'll say Heller.

Then just eliminate the Constitutional right.

So you are ok with all of these mass shootings, right? Answer that.

Re: Days Since Last Shooting II

I have recently been informed that people will choose to break the law.

You guys just don't understand...that people would rather have one person willing to commit a crime and a police officer around with a gun...than one potential criminal, one police officer and a dozen of strangers all with guns.

Most people believe one gun in a crowd is less dangerous than 13 guns.

Re: Days Since Last Shooting II

Just let people die in large numbers, there's nothing we can do. yes?

We're dying on highways in large numbers, and with amazing technology to try to prevent that as well. Like I said, what else to do? Scoob actually proposed a solution; I posited why not take the final step and eliminate the Second.

Re: Days Since Last Shooting II

I didn't eliminate anything. Free speech is regulated too. Gun owners just don't want to be responsible. That's the bottom line.

No, I'm saying why don't you take the last step and call for elimination of the Second. Problem solved, right?

Let's add a Constitutional amendment for the right to own an automobile,
or,
Let's remove the Constitutional amendment to keep and bear arms.

I keep hearing that cars are weapons, so maybe we should just try to get a court to declare the 2nd amendment also covers cars as a form of arms.
