Now if they can just beat another team other than Penn State...it will be worth a point. We almost had Marian in the scoring column today except for an excruciating loss for the panthers in OT v. Hamline --- if they had just hung in there for another 1:42...sigh

So clearly conn college should be ranked number 1 in the poll next week :) St Thomas spanks Trinity, RIT barely gets by them and Conn College beasts UST....hmm i can already see my fan poll.

Chatham does have some quality players. Chatham simply lacks the depth that other teams have. There are other teams that do similar to Chatham, but it seems that Chatham are the ones that get picked on the most. Maybe because they are in the toughest league?

Whoa, whoa, whoa.... I am a Slippery Rock grad. Lay off. SRU is an hour and 20 min south of Erie and about 6 hours west of NEUMANN!! Now pass the bananas.

Sorry Mic...not so much a comment on Slippery as it is on just how consistently bad Chatham is. My suggestion to Chatham: Find out which league Slippery is playing in and join it...you could be a powerhouse there. And relieve the rest of the ECAC West of the ordeal of humiliating you week in and week out.

Great game at Dayton Arena yesterday! It was over in 1:45 and was real "fire wagon" end to end old school hockey. Kudos to my new favorite ref team of Bowes and Tortolano! Total of 4 penalties? No significant impact on the outcome; just drop the puck and let 'em go at it. The team calling the Oswego at Amherst game had called 4 penalties (and given each team a lengthy 5x3 opportunity) before the GAME was 5 minutes old!!!

...well to be fair...Oswego speaks softly but wields a big stick with over 100 pen mins. and Amherst seems to respond to the physical game just fine..not that the Tommies and Camels were playing throw-and-catch, but it is good when the play can supersede the emotions.

Amherst / RIT - Great game to watch (thanks Jeffcast). Two great teams and could have gone either way. Took a fluke goal to decide this well fought game. We will definitely see both of these teams in the NCAA's. Only a handful of teams compare to these two clubs.

Read it however you want... IMO, "from behind" is never good and a rare 10 minute misconduct on an elbow penalty is usually not very good either.

I wonder where all that aggression comes from?

Like a "Lord Jeff" the abbreviated version of founder/namesake Ephraim Williams (often pronounced either "F" or "eeeeph" depending on which side of the rink you sit on...like "Eph'ing refs" or "Eph, this coffee's hot" -- not sure of the approved college pronunciation -- can anyone help? (Sadly I think the founder died in battle during skirmish in French and Indian War (hence his legacy to the school)). You could also call them the "purple cows" which is their strange mascot of unknown derivation, but I think you know how gaudy and desperate I find the combination of purple and yellow. Eph works fine for me (and I use the "eeeef" pronunciation).

...no..they don't know how to stop...I skate the same way...I have to run into someone/something....they were playing in Canada too much lately is probably the real story...getting used American softball rules again.
