Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - 2010/11

Oswego loses 3-1.

They have scored 6 goals in the last 7 games and only 10 goals in 8 games overall.

Not acceptable with the increased talent level on this team.

Oswego has never been known to be a high-scoring team. Very defensive-oriented systems around the absolute strength of their team with Emi Williams between the pipes.

That would be a valid excuse in the past when they had to play a very defensive system in order to stay in games. However this year they have a far more talented roster than ever before and they are not getting the job done. With where they are at in the development of their program they need to expect to take at least 2 points from Utica and get a sweep of Cortland. The Elmira tie was great, except for the fact that they had plenty of opportunities to actually win the game and did not execute. If you have trouble scoring goals I also don't understand the decision to not play a kid who had 38 points in her first two years.

It's starting to remind me of Neumann teams of the past where the indidivudal ability is far greater than the sum of the parts. I concede that it is early and they still have an opportunity to get it turned around, but through the first 1/3 of the season it's just looking like more of the same old stuff we've seen year after year.

Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - 2010/11

this weeked was the first test for the jackets really. Ithought they would get a win or 3 pts. I have a feeling we'll start to see les of togersen.

RIT's goaltending problems from last year are now Superior's.

Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - 2010/11

What the hell happened in Northfield!?!?!?!? Explanations now!!!:eek::eek::confused:

Norwich won 3-2 in overtime.

The goal was scored 24 seconds into the OT period.

I don't know why its showing up at 5:00. It's showing up correctly on my statcrew box score but the XML upload to collegehockeystats is not showing up correctly. I've informed them.

It was a very good hockey game. St. Anselm played well and they caught Norwich flat-footed in the first period. St. A's carried the play and was better all around. Norwich turned up the heat in the second period. Third period was pretty even.

Overtime winner was a shot from Lynn at the blueline that hit off the goaltender and then hit the pipe. There was a scramble in front and DeBus finally got a stick on it and knocked it past Grant before she could recover.

This was a wake-up call for the Cadets before their big three non-conference games to close out the semester.

Gotcha. My shock and confusion was less about the fact that they won in overtime than the fact that they scored at the 5:00 mark of overtime, so my initial thinking was tenths of a second? Understood now.

Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - 2010/11

Trinity, playing their first game of the season, parlayed 2 strong periods (and a 3-0 lead) into a win, almost running out of gas in the 3rd, as Manhattanville scored twice. The Valiants got their goalie off with a bit more than a minute to play, only to see Komarek take a penalty and then get to skate 6x4 for the better part of a minute. Weiss with the game winner, shorthanded. More in the morning.
