Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - 2010/11

4-3 Final in OT Buffalo State over Elmira, according to collegehockeystats

Let's go Cortland!

I'm actually on my way to Buff st. right now to watch our guys take on Canisus. I knew I should've arrived earlier.

River Falls joins the league of classless as they beat Finlandia 12-0.

Would like to say they didn't have starters in in the third but you have Mason, Nordness, and Conrad in on the goals in the third period.

Wonder what they will do to Marian next weekend.

Way to choke Elmira!

2-1 platty end of two corland goalie making some decent saves and help from the post three times

I would have to disagree with you based only on the boxscore. I didn't get to watch the game, but only 12 shots in the 3rd and 2 goals to me indicates that they did ease up... a little bit.

To be quite honest I'm not going to even bother taking the time to predict how the teams will finish next weekend. However I will predict that the O'brien Cup final will be a bettle between River Falls and Superior with River Falls coming out on top. I'd like to see Superior win so maybe, I repeat maybe, 3 western teams get into the NCAA's. But with the season the Falcon's are having, how can you pick against them?

Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - 2010/11

Go Panthers! No doubt the drubbing they took from Norwich (and on this board) provided motivation. Notice how they let the other team score one (just like Amherst 10 Wesleyan 1) -- very classy -- you can get an extra 3-4 goal differential with that kind of noblesse oblige -- you just have to earn a title to go with it (otherwise it shows weakness). PSU (ecac-e) is on the board!! -- who else is winless? chatham still? come on gals -- step up!

Actually, freshman Ali Ponte recorded her first SHUTOUT in her first collegiate win. According to the box score, PSU outshot Castleton en route to the shutout victory.

Does Chatham have any chance to erase their own winless streak? Who do they have left to play?

Chatham plays Potsdam next weekend. Possible, but doubtful.

Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - 2010/11

A stick tap to Buffalo State Senior Dmen Amanda Johnston and Katie Olejarski, Senior forward Marissa McMullan and Senior Goalie Alyssa Koniar who played their final home games on Senior Weekend at the Ice Arena in Buffalo. Konair saved her best for last as she absolutely stole the show on the Sunday against Elmira stopping 34 shots and gloveing two certain game enders in the dieing moments of the third. Although the Bengals will miss a playoff spot this year, their spectacular play in their final home game of this season will undoubtedly be remembered for years. Congratulations to these four seniors as they play it out next weekend in Cortland ....and to Medicine Hat, Alberta's own Kailyn Murray for potting the Bengals OT game winner.

I looked for any kind of coverage of the NEC/Amherst matchup and found nadda...am I missing something?

Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - 2010/11

Puck has dropped at the Chip Kenyon Arena between Middlebury and Norwich.

Fortin net for Norwich and Bloom in for Middlebury.

Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - 2010/11

Norwich really hems Middlebury into their zone the first five minutes.

Outshoots the Panthersa 4-0 and has a couple of great scoring chances including Fortier a wraparound in front of the net.

DeBus takes a tripping penalty in the corner.

Norwich has a breakaway by Leclerc stoned by Bloom and then a 2 on 1 odd man rush with Fortier taking a backhand shot but stoned by Bloom. Both while on the PK.

Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - 2010/11

6:59 to go Jillayne DeBus gives Norwich a 1-0 lead off an assist from Kayla Parsons. DeBus took a pass from Parsons at the blueline and skated in from the left wing. She protected the puck with a Midd defender draped on her as she skated in from the left faceoff circle. Came on top of the crease, faked to the forehand to get Bloom to leave the near post and then shoved it in on the backhand to give Norwich the 1-0 lead.

Shots are 9-1 Norwich.

1-0 Norwich

4:49 left.

Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - 2010/11

Norwich kills off the penalty.

Good first period for the Cadets.

If not for a few big saves by Bloom...Could be 3-0 right now Norwich.

end of the first period.

Norwich:1
Middlebury:0

Norwich leads shots 10-3.
