Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - 2010/11

UST looked BAD. Any idea why they didn't play the starting goalie? I know she is a freshman but she seemed more solid against Trinity than Muske did against UWS tonight. 2 of the goals were scored from behind the net/on the goal line and the, one of which was 5 hole. The other goal was a walk out from behind and a point blank five hole goal.

Announcer mentioned that Torgeson as made 23 saves so far. From my view of the game, there hasn't been too many ones that were challenging. Good looks at the shots. Nobody walking in uncontested. She wasn't giving up second chances doing a good job of covering the puck.

Good for her, doing what it takes.

Late tuning in to the St. Anselm vs. Amherst webcast. Looks like 1-0 Amherst after 1.

Shots 8-0 Amherst. Zukus on the goal.

Can't answer you question about the start without being on the inside, but considering this is the last chance for a non-conference start for the backup, it will probably be Muske's last game of the season unless injury becomes an issue. Considering they played the starter against UWEC recently, you'd wonder why they didn't flip the 2 starts around using the tougher UWS (at least by current record) team to tune up the starter for the home stretch.

I will agree that UST looked bad from top to bottom. They weren't going to score a goal in 6 periods based upon the scoring chances they generated in 3. My resolution wasn't good enough to see the 5-hole goal, but I agree the goals pretty much looked weak.

Even the UST announcing pair had a hard time putting much of a positive spin on the game at the end.

Final: 5-1 Amherst.

Other than St. A. PP opportunities, looked like it was played in the Amherst offensive end.

St. A's was on a roll coming into this game too. Impressive win by Amherst. Not surprised they won, just impressed by the score.

Sorry I missed this one! When does a quality team have a period with ZERO shots on goal, as StA did in the 1st at Orr last night? Amherst D coming together at the right time (Zukas with a goal and assist on the night, and a helper from Lloyd).

St A's was on a roll agaisnt pretty weak competition. Looking at the records at the time of the game in their 8 straight wins, their opponents were 23-56-7. The only team they have beaten all season with a winning record is Bowdoin who were 7-4 at the time. Not saying that an 8 game win streak isn't impressive...but against that competition it shouldn't have been to surprising that Amherst beat up on them. IMO

I thought St. A's was decent when they played Norwich earlier this year. And it wasn't just because the score was close.

St. A's skated hard and challenged every puck. They had a couple girls who could really fly and they game planned well, but fell short in overtime.

Plattsburgh had 12 shots on goal against Norwich and won 4-2. Are they not a quality team for averaging 4 shots a period against a good team?

We're live at Cairns Arena in South Burlington, Vt. for tonight's Norwich/St. Michael's game on part one of a home and home between the two in-state rivals.

I'll also be getting text updates from the RIT/Plattsburgh game in Rochester from the First Lady.

Norwich leads 2-0 after the first.

Sophie Leclerc and Julie Fortier with the goals.

Shots are 16-4. Puck was in St. Michael's zone for 95% of the period.

1 Zip after 1 in Aston for EC. What's happening elsewhere?

Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - 2010/11

RIT v. Platty
No score after first period. Dominated by RIT with 15-2 shot advantage. Lot's of penalties in a chippy game. Mackrell is the difference in this one so far.

Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - 2010/11

Still 0-0 in RIT/Plattsburgh game midway thru second.

Shots are 21-3 RIT.

Norwich scored 5 goals in the first 10 minutes of the second period to take a 7-0 lead. 2 min to go in second.
