Adrian takes a lead in the second 1-0
Adrian came out with the win over Point. SOunds like SP player was bringing the puck up the ice, fell down and an Adrian player took it in and scored on the rebound..
lookin more and more like
1 LFC
2. RF
3. Adrian
4. Point
now i just need to cheer for Finlandia to upset point next week
good game at Point today. Just a question though, I did not have a good view of the Adrian goal line but two of the Adrian goalies saves appeared to be carried across the goal line from my vantage point. One she caught in the chest and looked like she with the puck fell backwards across the goal line. the other was a nice sweeping glove save that that appeared to be carried across the goal line. Not complaining at all., but what's the ruling on pucks carried over the goal line?
Adrian came through when they had to. Congrats to them.
so, right now since Adrian has 23 pts and rf will likely finish w/ 23 also..wouldn't the tie break go to Adrian? so it would actually be:
1 LFC
2 Adrian
3 RF
4 Point
? i'm just wondering because I'm not sure what order the tie break criteria go in
From the NCAA Rule book P. HR-68:
If the puck is between the goalkeeper’s pads or lodged in the equipment
and is carried over the goal line by a teammate pushing the goalkeeper or if
the goalkeeper propels it over the goal line, the goal shall be allowed (see
6-18-c-13).
I believe there must be continuous movement and, of course, no whistle prior to the puck crossing the line. I have witnessed this call missed many times because the ref does not have a full view of the action, or was not in proper position to make the call. It is also a difficult call, because the goalie often recovers and quickly pulls the puck back over the line.
Hopped over the border to watch the Mville – Platty game and it seemed as though Mville gave Platty all they could handle. Game could have gone either way with a bounce here or a bounce there . The #9 team in the country taking the #1 team in the country to overtime in their barn says something. Mville being on their third game of the weekend looked as though they had more legs than Platty at times. Mville played a team game tonight I was impressed with their tenaciousness. while Platty showed why there #1 as they weathered some pressure by Mville and found a way to win. I don’t think Platty has seen a team pressure them as hard as Mville did tonight all year. Great Crowd too!
Ends in another tie.....River Falls pulls goalie again in OT today. Foresters had a shot or two at the empty net but couldn't get it in.
Can someone explain why River Falls would pull their goaltender and risk losing these games? What's the coach's thinking?
I believe with a loss in either of those games RF would have still finished in top 4 and hosted a quarterfinal. But, beating LF in at least one of those games was the only way for RF to have a shot at finishing first and hosting the final four.
Are they discounting any shot at a Pool C bid? It would seem they were willing to put all of their eggs in the NCHA basket. And I'm not saying that's right or wrong....just interesting strategy.
Plattsburgh was all over M"ville in the Saturday game. They dominated play probably 95% of the time.
Today, a different story.....it seemed like the Cards were trying to coast to a victory, and M'ville came at them hard for the whole game. Both goalies were outstanding today and I thought the game was going to end in a tie. Moberg going in all alone with 24 seconds left in OT was the difference. She is the last person, M'ville would want to have the puck in that situation! Sunday's game was a lot more fun to watch! M'ville could surprise some teams down the stretch.
