Re: D3 Game Updates 2009-2010

Thanks Amherst. Losing to 39th ranked Colby should take the pressure of Lake Forest losing to UMass.(at least UMass was a .500 team:D But don't worry. By Eastern Rules you won't fall too far in the polls:rolleyes:

yeah...maybe if it was umass boston that beat amherst. i dont buy the "a beat b, b beat c, a would beat c" theory.

Re: D3 Game Updates 2009-2010

All you Middlebury haters will not like this.....Panthers 2 Trinity 1. Middlebury outshoots them 30 to 15.

Re: D3 Game Updates 2009-2010

I believe it is called the transitive property...not theory

for kicks and grins

"Transitive Property of Equality

The following property: If a = b and b = c, then a = c. One of the equivalence properties of equality.

Note: This is a property of equality and inequalities. One must be cautious, however, when attempting to develop arguments using the transitive property in other settings.

Here is an example of an unsound application of the transitive property: "Team A defeated team B, and team B defeated team C. Therefore, team A will defeat team C."
lol

Why dump on Colby? Colby beat UMass-Boston too. That's more than the Lakers could do.

Stay tuned tomorrow, kids, when we'll learn all about the letter M!

Re: D3 Game Updates 2009-2010

Point had scored on a PP in the 3rd, and had the game locked up until they gift wrapped the tying goal for UWRF late in the third on a defensive gaff.:(

yeah, the refs were doing a TERRIBLE job on both sides of the puck. stuff wasn't getting called and the girls seemed to be seeing how far they could go. till Conrad, an AMAZING part of our defense, got thrown into the boards really hard! not having her was not a good thing for RF.

Re: D3 Game Updates 2009-2010

GoJackets, I believe YankeeZulu meant Lake Forest, and called them Lakers instead of Foresters....

Colby did beat UMass Boston.

I was well aware of what he meant. At least we know what the eastern teams mascots are. Maybe I'll start referring to them as the Middlebury Middlers, or the Plattsburgh burghies or better yet the Manhattanville Villians or the Colby cheeses(?)

Re: D3 Game Updates 2009-2010

News Release – January 31, 2010 – Waterville, Me. In a post-mortem of an encounter between a herd of domestic animals and a group of humans (the White Mules and Lord Jeffs), The Maine Department of Health confirms the first seasonal outbreak of West Mile virus in the Northeast.
West Mile virus is a transmissible disease prevalent in the MidWest and thought to be carried by insects. West Mile is so named because of its preponderance in the Midwestern US and the exacerbation of its effects when accompanied by long-mileage bus trips. Domestic animals and humans who work and play outdoors (pointers and foresters) are primarily at risk and are urged to use insect repellant, avoid long bus trips and limit “walks in the park” – treating each hike with respect for mother nature (and the hockey gods). Overconfidence has been indicated as a contributing factor.
West Mile is characterized by playoff fever, sudden chills, inexplicable weakness of the body’s defenses and delusionary behavior. Lack of competent care can often affect the outcome as complaints of pain referee-all compound the issues. It can affect birds, animals and humans, but is particularly virulent in birds at this time of year -- causing psychosis, coma and even death. If the disease is caught in time, rush the afflicted party to its next opponent immediately and administer garbage cans full of invective to completely inoculate the virus from spreading all over the locker room floor. Turn the heat up as much as possible and exercise those demands all over the opponent in the next encounter – hoping that others will soon also experience a similar malaise at just the wrong time. With this outbreak the regional epidemic has spread and cross-species transmission is expected to continue throughout the season. Universal precautions are warranted. Wear proper clothing, drink plenty of tonic, get plenty of rest, speak softly and carry a big stick.:)

Re: D3 Game Updates 2009-2010

West Mile virus is not to be confused with the East Coast's own indigenous disease of Eastern EqualWhine Encephalitis (EEE) which is an often fatal swelling of the brain thought to be inflamed by the horse you rode in on. Horse-dependent cultures like the Mules, Cadets and Lord Jeffs are most at risk and are urged to constantly check-in with Western pundits for a complete perspective on their true worth and whininess.;)
