D1 Scores and Highlights

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

Ohio State defeated Bemidji State earlier tonight in a shootout. The score was tied 4-4 going into OT and no one scored in the extra period. OSU goalie Chelsea Knapp stonewalled all Bemidji shots in the shootout. Natalie Spooner scored all four of Ohio State's goals in regulation and also had the gamewinner in the shootout.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

Why no screaming from the Maine gang? The girls came back to win after a 3-0 deficit. I seem to remember someone continuously screeming nonsense on this website about how they don't win. How about "KUDOS" to the girls?

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

Northeastern win their 1st game of the year vs Syracuse, 5-2. Freshman Lucie Povova (Czech Republic) scored and Kendall Coyne scored twice who was also the game's #1 star. I think Nu's crosstown rival may soon regret they passed on KC. Congrats to this young, up and coming team!

Final Score

SLU looks strong this year, but only time will tell how far they will go.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

Maine comes from 3 goals down on the road for the second time in as many days, beating Quinnipiac 5-4 in OT.

Wow. I'm with RinkRat. Time to give the Black Bears some Kudo's. Sweep of a top ten team on the road. Looks to me Ms Lewis's crew is continuing their upward track, right where they left off late last year. Early indications suggest a better finish than the pre-season poll 8th place prediction from the pundits.

Man, UMD's website really blows. How do you follow any games? No live stats, no video, no blog, no nothing.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

BC getting dominated by UMD after 2 periods by the score of 4 - 0. Score was tied at 0 - 0 after 1. Looks like BC should have played a tougher warm up game prior to traveling to Duluth. BC just looking slow and ill prepared. Perhaps the 3rd period will bring some energy.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

Syracuse and UNH tied 1-1 after two. UNH has the edge in shots 20-12

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

Despite being outshot 31-13, Syracuse picks up a 2-1 win. Wildcats didn't have much in the way of puck luck, as many a shot went just wide, just high, or was miraculously deflected out of harms way at the last second. Kallie Billadeau wasn't spectacular, she just made the saves she had to make and kept Syracuse in the game.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

Junior defenseman Jessica Wong posted two goals and three assists to lead Minnesota Duluth to a 7-2 win against Boston College on Saturday afternoon at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth.

Schmoseph,

This forum will miss your great photos of the UMD games due to your newly acquired status as an out of towner.

Ohio State completes the sweep of Bemidji State with a 5-3 win this afternoon. Sophomore Ally Tarr had a hat trick in the win. Next weekend the Buckeyes will be hosting St. Cloud.

Good win, but not without cost. Senior Melissa Feste broke her leg after a nasty collision. This one was about as freaky as could be. She got a skate blade between her skate tongue and shin pan which sliced her open and the impact of the skate broke the tibia. She's doing well and should be back in about 8 weeks.

Whoa!!! That's crazy. Hope she heals fast.

Maybe they just stand out more in a person's mind, but it seems like an inordinate number of times it is seniors that suffer major injuries that cost them a bunch of games, when they just want to be on the ice as much as possible in their final season.
