Friday 9/30/2011 Union vs University of Minnesota Minneapolis, MN L 1-6 From the Union webpage: “Union Freshman Camille Corbin tallied her first career goal Friday, when Union came back from intermission and scored its first goal just two minutes into the second period on the power play with Minnesota's Erickson in the penalty box. Minnesota gave Union five power play chances in the game, but Minnesota killed four of five chances. Minnesota had three power play opportunities and converted on one. Freshman goaltender Shenae Lundberg made 29 saves.”
Shots on goal : 35 shots for Minnesota to 15 for Union. Freshman goaltender Shenae Lundberg made 29 saves. She faced St Cloud the next day.

Saturday Union vs St Cloud State Huskies SCSH defeated Union by a score of 1 -3. From the St Cloud webpage: “It took the Huskies all the way until February to pick up it's first win of the season last year. They didn't have to wait more than the first weekend of this season to pick up their first win in 2011-12. Exactly four minutes into the second period it was junior forward Alex Nelson finding the back of the net for her 12th career goal and giving the Huskies a two goal advantage. It didn't take long for Union to answer the Huskies goal. Christine Valente scored for Union at the 5:37 mark of the second period with assists going to Bryanne Panchuk and Chelsey Heinhuis. St. Cloud State took over from that point forward however, and at the 7:29 mark of the third period, sophomore forward Molli Mott scored a goal to put the Huskies up 3-1. ” Time out Union @ 18:04, goalie pulled. Fifteen seconds later, the Huskies scored their final goal, an empty netter at the 18:19 of the third. Senior forward, and captain of the Huskies, Jocelyn Zabrick lofted the puck from the opposite blue line and it found the back of the net. Union put the goalie back in for the rest of the game. The final shot count was 27-18 in favor of the Huskies.
