D1 Scores and Highlights

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

Cornell up 4-0 over Syracuse 5 min into the 2nd. 1st period shots were Cornell 7, SU 3.

While I was typing this, SU scored a short hander. 1st goal against in 8 periods. Score 4-1.

Fortino scores to make it 5-1.

Shots are 41-8 for Cornell after two, and the score is 5-1. Saulnier got another goal, her eight to take the ECAC lead in that department. She also collected two assists sofar tonight. Sounds like another rookie might very well be headed for ECAC player of the year.

Cornell has added another goal in the 3rd and now on PP. Play getting very physical.

7-1 PP goal by Johnston (2nd on the night). Just under 10 min to go in the game.

SU getting a little frustrated. Cornell gets 2 full minutes of 5 on 3 and White takes advantage 8-1, just under 5 to go. Cornell still on PP. Biladeau getting a lot of action.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

Cornell gets a late penalty and Syracuse capitalizes to make it 8-2.

And Saulnier with another goal (from Johnston and Jenner)...3rd consecutive 9 goal game for the Big Red!

9-2 final. I think Syracuse took exception to Cornell continuing to score. Lots of chippy play which continued after the final whistle.

I think the announcer said Cornell had 69 shots.

Saulnier 2 goals on the night; Freshman Monika Leck scores her 3rd of the season!

And the shots were 59 to 10. Big red averaging 59 shots a game and 8.25 GPG in their first four games. Saulnier with another 5 points.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

Scoring at will in the other ECAC related game as well. Providence 9-3 over Yale.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

Providence beat Yale 9-3 tonight. Two goals for Bacon and 2 goals for Buie. Nina Riley started for PC and got the win. Hilary Drake finished the game the last 5 minutes.

And when I am watching the game on my TV I feel like they don't shoot enough!! They really control the puck in the offensive zone for long stretches of time!

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

BU wins 4-1.

Can I just say how lousy BC's live stats are. How hard is it to keep live stats going for the full 60 mins of the game? And actually, if you're going to do a completely lousy job of it, my as well not even do it at all. Gametracker right now says the game is tied 2-2 in the 3rd period. And for those wondering, hockeyeastonline get's it's data from the school's live stats.

Also, the refereeing in that game was terrible. Six penalties, two 5 on 3s, the second of which was granted after a really light play that they hadn't called at all earlier. Glad we were able to get through all that and still pull out the win.

That seems to be a "feature" of CBS Gametracker. It usually gets stuck at some point when the games are at Ohio State or Wisconsin as well. I don't know anything about the internals, so I can't hazard a guess as to whether it is not properly configured, or just lousy software. But I agree with you that it is pretty disappointing.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

UND took a 1-0 lead with a PP goal but suddenly SCSU puts one in shortly after. Seemed to be a soft goal for SCSU if the SCSU radio guys are to be believed.

1-1 SCSU and UND in the first.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

UND gets another PP goal and takes the lead 2-1 late in the first. It was a 5 on 3 goal.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

End of the first, UND lead 2-1. UND will start the second period on the PP with 39 seconds left on it.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

although a bc fan, i have to totally agree with Bumbles. in addition to every home bc game having trouble with gametracker, the boxscore stats for each game are often wrong. in addition, goals and assists are fairly regulary given to incorrect players despite the proper names being broadcast over the loudspeaker. not sure if it is the same group, team, individuals, but bc seems to have some technology and performance issues off the ice in addition to on the ice.

go bc.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

flood gates might be starting to open in St. Cloud as UND gets another goal.

Now 4-1 UND over SCSU in the second. about 7 minutes left.

Re: D1 Scores and Highlights

Well, I paid for a monthly subscription to Gopher Sports video feeds (can't buy individual games) and the video feed quit after five minutes. But hey, it's back now that the first period is over. Was it any good?
