Covid 2023

Not a single Republican or Right Winger gives two ****s about society. All you need to do is watch them contort themselves on the gun issue to know that. Me? I understand that we have to have some rules of the road for society to work. Chuck? No. He doesn't need any rules. Murder? It's fine. Running red lights? It's fine. Driving under the influence or without a license or without insurance? All good.

In other words. **** everyone else.

I'm aware of that. All I'm saying is that when society finally shuns them for it they can all shut up. They can scream into the wind for all I care or they can simply die off. Cause at this point I'm done I'll argue with them... I'm done caring what happens to them.

Either way they're going to kill people. That's what they do. All the guns. All the avoidance of Covid protocols. I lost a second cousin cause he simply refused to get vaccinated. Basically committed suicide. His choice I guess, but last time I checked in our civilized society assisted suicide is illegal and everyone involved in filling his head with lies about the vaccine in my mind is culpable for his death.

My wife tested positive yesterday, thought it was a cold as that’s what idiots, I mean fellow employees said. Tested negative on Monday, tested positive on Tuesday. We hope Paxlovid gets rid of it quickly. Wicked headache on Tuesday which is why she tested again. Hopefully I don’t get it but staying away from folks in case. Supposed to get business taxes from Acct. today, he said don’t come in. when I went to get paxlovid, pharmacy said stay in car and we will bring it out.

First society cancels them, then Mother Earth does. Fine by me...

This has been what has happened all through human history. It's the marketplace of lifestyles. Everything the Right is doing, from their diet to their education to their hygiene to their wrecklessness, means they sicken and die disproportionately earlier and in greater numbers. Over time, that tells.

There's a reason we aren't this anymore:

The Right is the perpetual crying of the cowards among us to go backwards. Back to fear and gods and violence. Conservatism is the vestigial organ in us that reminds us that humans were once just cowering, sniveling animals.

Be prepared - the Paxlovid will definitely help but she will most likely get a rebound case pretty quickly. I tested positive on a Tuesday, started taking Paxlovid that night. Started feeling better pretty quickly, tested negative that Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Thursday night, I got congested again and tested positive on Friday morning. Doctor said to treat as a new infection and recommended I quarantine for 10 days. While it was a mild case, I felt the second round was a little worse as it took longer to clear. I started taking Mucinex after four days and that helped a lot.

Vaporub is better and works quicker on phlegm but beware as the Paxlovid can definitely bind you up as well. Muralax is a great stool softener to help get you back to normal. For the aches and pains, gummies or a few bones work well, but get the filtered ones. There is so much more tar in those joints as opposed to those god awful cigs, but they are good for taxes so smoke up.

Seemingly half my office has tested positive since July. We were also all relatively unaffected because we were all vaccinated. One co-worker did feel like sh-t, and she is coming off cancer treatments, but she's been okay now for a few weeks.

It is nice though to work behind razor wire nobody's allowed through unless they have been fully vaccinated. We have dopes among us, even a few MAGAts, but they have to eat their feefees if they want to hold on to their jobs.

Also really good that if anybody brings a pew pew in here they're not getting more than 5 feet inside the guard shack before they have a really bad day.

First, sorry for your loss of your second cousin. I'm not asking for further details, but I note you haven't mentioned either his age and/or any comorbidities, so I assume (since those are indeed the two leading factors in fatalities) he's gotten at least one (and possibly both) of these factors, as you've labeled it as "suicide".

Otherwise ... to you and your like on here, please give it a rest with the dramatics, OK? Death happens at least twenty thousand times a day to folks all over the world, and for a wide range of reasons, too. We're all going to die someday, and your willingness - all of you - to play coroner to the world in determining what (or who) is killing who (or what) ... give me a frickin' break. Life is supposed to be hard, and death is inevitable (unless you're the special one who's gonna break that centuries-long losing streak). Be a man Scoob, or stay scared. It's really your choice ...

There are only two people being dramatic in this thread, and as a hint it is not the people discussing how evolving expert medical information on the most recent variant might affect the efficacy and timing of their next booster shot (the process of which takes at most 10-15 minutes out of one's day) and otherwise waiting to see how other expert medical information on the variant evolves before they make further decisions on how it might or might not affect their activities.

Irrelevant. With the vaccine he had a 90-95% chance of survival.

I think you pretty much answered my question. So, maybe your cousin's definition of "survival" was different than yours?

Lots of folks in similarly dire situations pass on doing chemotherapy every day. Are they "brainwashed" too??

Quality of life matters more to some than others. I've had a great life, if I die tomorrow, I'll leave with no regrets ...

You have no clue what you're talking about and no clue how Covid, and the Covid vaccine operate. Get back to us when you actually know something.

How's that meme go? "Everything can be a conspiracy theory if you don't know how anything works."

“Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic”, with the caveat that anything counts as advanced when one is willfully ignorant.

sur-viv-al
/sərˈvīv(ə)l/

noun
  1. the state or fact of continuing to live or exist, typically in spite of an accident, ordeal, or difficult circumstances.
So it seems to me that your cousin failed in his attempt at survival (RIP), at least according to the commonly accepted definition of that word. I guess you and I and everyone else in this thread have got it wrong though, Scoob. It seems that "survival" for conservatives means the survival of their right to defiantly own the libs all the way to their graves.

Both my wife and I are vaccinated, planned on waiting until the new one comes out this fall. I'm not sure she can get it now??

Everybody is always the hero in their own movie. The Right has no idea they "are the baddies." They are not just going to persist in their behavior, they will accelerate it as it bites into them more and more sharply. That's how cul de sac populations write themselves out of the Book of Life. Believe them when they post here, they're being honest; they're not gaslighting. They are the drunk dressed in all black staggering out on the highway on a rainy night, watching the lights of the speeding truck approach, and thinking it's Jesus come to tell them they're such a good boy.
