Covid 2023

They don't have to be funny. You attract a Lefty's attention through cleverness and nuance, so you have to promote those things to get ahead. You attract a Righty's attention through meanness and lowest common denominator bile. You must race to the bottom or the dumber competitor gets your business.

Now repeat for everything else from pundits to candidates. The public figures of the Right are not influencers, they are outputs from the character of those voters. Dump did not make Republicans stupid or lazy or cruel or cowardly. Republicans chose a man to represent them. So the disappearance of Dump or a Member or a pundit will not change anything. They are symptoms. The disease is the people. That is why we must continue to outvote them and make them democratically irrelevant.

I’m not a monster, either. But I’m not going to use emotional effort on people who don’t want it. It’s a lot better for my health.

Sure, the voting part is a bad joke. Still, if someone insists on riding a motorcycle without a helmet, and they are bad at riding, all I can do is drive safely for myself. Saw two serious bike accidents while on out epic trip. Just can’t distract myself from my loved ones.

edit- and consider that one side is mocking people for just caring. They go and find reasons to try to ridicule people for trying to prevent sickness and death. That’s pretty low on the scale of people.

Not at all. But when 99.9% of them are either elderly (and I'm borderline) and/or immunocompromised, you opting to use the "one size fits all" *solution* makes as much sense as trusting Alec Baldwin to teach your gun safety class. Unless, of course, your aim is to scare the rest of the people into conformity with said crappy "one size fits all" *solutions*. Oh, and to allow you to virtue signal as well.

Come on man. I don't get on you like others here do, you could at least show me the same courtesy and not retort with obvious nonsense like this. Hospitals (here, at least, where people have something approaching functioning brains) only somewhat recently lifted mask mandates, for pretty god damned obvious reasons, and you know what I was talking about.

Interpretation for others who may be reading:

Swannie playing "good cop" to the dissident sheep straying from the flock, on orders from Thought Leader (a/k/a Kep). "I'm not like the others, really, but get your head out of your a$$ with this independent thought stuff, that can be dangerous, and besides, you're making the rest of us sheeple look bad." Loaded with more of the trademark Lefty/commie "cleverness and nuance" Kep likes to cite, just like taking a sledgehammer to Drew's kneecap(s).

Now that we've cleared up this little skirmish ... some helpful guidance on do's and don'ts from the CIDC ...
 
Any update on this new variant and the utter destruction it is causing. I saw that New York City's morgues were filling up quickly and bodies were piling up on the sidewalks.

Sorry, nix that. Appears the story was on the New York Times website but was dated Oct 24th, 2023, so hasnt happened just yet.

Real simple then Chucky... Don't wear them. We don't care if you wear them anymore we don't care if you guys decide you want to comply if it's such a freaking hassle for you. But if you don't comply to it and you suffer consequences from it... shut up. You guys don't get to bitch both ways about complaining and then not complying. It's not an impingement on your freedoms it's not going against your first amendment rights to free speech... These are businesses and public places saying we don't want you here if you're not going to wear a mask and they're allowed to do that so either comply or shut up.
You aren't victims and you aren't being persecuted. You're just being told look there are norms for being in society right now and if you're not going to follow them you don't get to be in society.

I mean we all know you're not going to shut up You're going to complain and whine like you're the biggest victims on the planet but we're no longer listening to you and we no longer care... And one of the consequences you suffer are big or small..too bad so sad boohoo.

Not a single Republican or Right Winger gives two shits about society. All you need to do is watch them contort themselves on the gun issue to know that. Me? I understand that we have to have some rules of the road for society to work. Chuck? No. He doesn't need any rules. Murder? It's fine. Running red lights? It's fine. Driving under the influence or without a license or without insurance? All good.

In other words. Fuck everyone else.
