Re: COVID-19 The 7th Part: We're Gonna Be Number One Soon!

If the deaths are right, they are inverses. If cases are 10x more then mortality is 10% of the estimate.

Also possible is there are 10x the deaths, with 90% being misattributed since the victims were not diagnosed.

The truth is somewhere between those end points.

Put it this way as currently reported:

Cases: 2,409,826
Deaths: 165,109
Rate: 6.8%

To get the same rate at 24 million cases total deaths would have to be roughly 1.65m. From everything I've read those on the front line are just as likely to incorrectly attribute a death to covid they should not have as the reverse, it's illogical to assume the death rate isn't significantly less if the cases count is in fact markedly higher.

Re: COVID-19 The 7th Part: We're Gonna Be Number One Soon!

So classic dumpy speak- blames the states for not being able to do the tests they want to do, and at the same time has not delivered the testing that he's promised. And then blames the states for not being able to co-ordinate their own tests, that his administration is not responsible for delivering tests. Dude, you could help out and make sure the states can get the tests, but you make the states out-bid each other making sure your donors are getting extra money for their work.

THAT'S the real reason for the lack of defense production act- as long as he's not responsible for ordering, the prices can be whatever they can get- making sure that there are plenty of people making HUGE dollars on this pandemic. That's a much more plausible theory than all the crap that the dumpster divers are putting out.

And it's nice to see the protesters get so close to each other and yell loud all at the same time. They, indeed, got the memo. The next two weeks will be interesting.

So we've passed the Two Hovey's mark in deaths. Beginning to think Dimwit Donnie's gonna have a hard time keeping this below is 100.000 "great job" threshold.

Apparently Jhina is going so far as to ban their online gamers from playing with and talking to other online gamers, as part of their campaign to control the narrative.

Another protest in Lansing today. I believe this one is planned by the Michigan Militia.

NC apparently has a protest planned (i think today). Allowed to gather as long as they follow distancing rules. I doubt that'll happen!

~6600 cases, ~197 deaths.

Re: COVID-19 The 7th Part: We're Gonna Be Number One Soon!

Still no adequate testing materials or testing going on.

The protests are like a dozen guys. I don't think they should even get news coverage.
In the face of this decisive opposition to the president’s wishes, the president’s supporters are borrowing the tactics of the early Tea Party. They are protesting in aggressively obnoxious ways to entice the TV cameras to overlook their tiny numbers and fringe membership: Confederate-flag wavers, militia cosplayers, anti-vaxxers. The Lansing protesters used their cars to impede ambulances. They brandished guns on the steps of the step legislature. Behave obnoxiously enough, and the television cameras will disregard your scanty numbers. The Lansing protests have been joined by even smaller protests in California and North Carolina, each numbering fewer than 100 people.

Nobody is assuming anything. Let's say it is unlikely that lethality is not lower. In a situation in which there are this many unknowns there are logically consistent (albeit improbable) paths to virtually every projection.

It’s highly likely the death rate is lower given higher infection rates. Too bad we’ll never have prevalence points for this
