COVID-19 - Part 2

Re: COVID-19 - Part 2

So have the 1% decided what *they* are going to do for the country that clearly blessed them with ample opportunity?

Oh, that’s right - they already offshored their profits in tax shelters, and they did it for all of us....

I don't know - you tell me, Skippy? My guess is if you're not already in the so-called 1% yourself, you're probably closer to it than I am, if the demographics of your decidedly non-diverse, English-speaking, relatively wealthy ZIP Code is any clue to draw upon (FWIW it seems like a nice town BTW). Gotta think they're aren't too many Bernie Bros where you live …

Looking at the geography, I'm also going to give you some credit, 'cuz any dyed-in-the-wool lefty would have left town long ago, after Inventor of the Internet Al Gore delivered his dire "climate change" predictions for the future of Coastal Florida decades ago. But you saw through that BS, and you hung onto your slice of paradise, so good for you. Hope I haven't blown your cover here. :)

You'd be surprised by a few things in this town - way more lefties than I expected (and the Priuses to prove it). We tend to congregate at the beach, because the surrounding area- not so much! I drive by a house every day on my way to work that flies a confederate battle flag on a pole in the front yard. And thanks for your concern, but my house is a good 25 ft above sea level, and the most dire projections only show 3-4 feet of rise by 2100, so I'm good.

Wow. A completely unsubstantiated conspiracy theory, presented in a verifiably incorrect statement (Republicans have in fact been found guilty of voter fraud) followed by a complete inability to actually understand what I said. Impressive.

I'm sure both sides have engaged in it at times TBF. Problem is, the big damage comes in the big cities, while Floyd the Barber doing it in Mayberry RFD isn't going to flip a key election, like Mayor Daley habitually did when he was ruling Chicago. But I've provided an MSM source to back me up - and again TBF there are examples on both sides - but as a matter of scale, Dems "win":

https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/oct/17/no-voter-fraud-isnt-myth-10-cases-where-its-all-to/

I said "registered voters", not "all people who voted". They don't describe the same thing. One is a subset of the other. I'll let you try to figure it out from there.

No, I get that, and got it the first time too. Not everyone shows up to vote. However (and follow closely, I'll go slow, I don't want to confuse you, Gomer) … when HRC uttered her deplorables speech, it was BEFORE the election - NOT after. So, she wasn't describing only the folks who were going to show up several weeks/months later, or those who weren't going to show up … she said it to everyone. And she wasn't particularly specific. So she p!$$ed off a ton of potential voters, and probably alienated a lot of folks who were on the fence. Context is something you apparently struggle with when trapped under Big Brother's big bubble.

In the end, there's no logically supported "funny math" for your 13% figure. But in the end it's moot, President Trump strolled to a comfortable victory (80-ish votes) in the only venue that counted. No wonder you folks detest simple math, the Constitution, and the Electoral College ...

Re: COVID-19 - Part 2

The interesting question to ponder is; would you lefties rather have four more years of Trump or this pandemic? Neither is not an acceptable answer. You have to choose one or the other and be honest!

Would you rather have eight years of Hillary or the pandemic? Neither is not an acceptable answer. You have to choose one or the other and be honest!

Re: COVID-19 - Part 2

When was the last time you heard a Dem utter these still-compelling words (and mean it)?

New version, updated to reflect the modern-day Democrat Party:

Ask not what you can do for your country
Demand that your country do more for you
You name it, anything, we'll give it to you
We only ask for your vote in return

It must hurt Dems when they realize that if JFK was alive today, he'd be a mainstream Republican. :)

Each of the four times I took my Oath to Protect and Defend the Constitution.

Re: COVID-19 - Part 2

You realize, of course, 100% of unregistered voters voted for HRC, right?

Some two, three ... ten times apiece, even. It's how you guys roll. Vote early, vote often, etc.

BTW - I'm not letting you off the hook for your suspect math skills ... HRC got 48% of the popular vote, Trump got 46%, and the Greens and Libertarians soaking up most of the other 6%. So, technically "half" of Trump's voters would be 23%. Of course, Ms. Congeniality didn't bother to explain which "half" of Trump's support she was condemning, so she doesn't get the benefit of the doubt on taking one 50% discount - much less the consecutive 50% discounts you advocate.

Dems Own Math. You must have been one of the folks counting votes in the Iowa caucuses??

Chuck, your level of hypocrisy is unparalleled. YOU aren't letting "jflory" off the hook about his math skills yet, you refuse to respond to any of the points I raised with you!! You are unf-ing believable. You are such a bleeping chicken-bleep.

The funny thing is my math skills were fine, but he pulled the ol' trusty of the chronically dishonest - the bait and switch - when I pointed out that the math was fine. Suddenly it was the context, and not my math skills, that he disagreed with. Can't admit he was wrong, so just has to switch attack angles and pretend that's what he was saying the whole time.

Re: COVID-19 - Part 2

So stop engaging with it.

These people are:

1. rock stupid

2. carefully inoculated against assimilating any information inconsistent with their programming

3. not debating in good faith

They're the product of a two-generation campaign of relentless stimulus-response-reward on the feeder bar of the Echo Chamber. You might as well argue with furniture.

These are the kids we left behind on the last day of high school and then went off to college and promptly forgot. They moldered away with their glory days memories and their fecund and increasingly fat spouses, becoming more bitter and paranoid until the Tangerine Tyrant gave them a voice and told them that even slime can get to the top if it is vicious enough. You are arguing with the kid who became a bouncer or a wrestling coach or a day trader. These are the dummies who, if you met them in person, after a few minutes you would just turn on your heels and walk away without a word.

So why let them live in your head here? They are inconsequential. The only time they even touch human existence is when a human notices them. That's why they badger and troll like an insecure kid brother. You give them breath by arguing with them.

If you ignore them, they return to their pathetic invisibility. Banish them to the living hell of their failed lives, sans wisdom, sans happiness, sans dignity, sans everything.

Spoken like a true Ivy League elitist ....

Re: COVID-19 - Part 2

At least he seems to have gotten part of the "quality over quantity" point, boys and girls. Quantity has (blessedly) come down to a digestible amount, but that nagging quality thing still seems to be a sticking point. So instead, there's lots of frustration, and that predictably leads to anger. Psych 101. Everyone wants to be a superstar, but so few make the grade - harsh but true. Anyway ...

Chuck, your level of hypocrisy is unparalleled. YOU aren't letting "jflory" off the hook about his math skills yet, you refuse to respond to any of the points I raised with you!! You are unf-ing believable. You are such a bleeping chicken-bleep.

To save the nice folks out there the bother of having to sort through a series of mind-numbingly long and boring posts, chock full of my stalker's self-important attempts to impose hours-long research assignments upon us the readers … let me summarize how we reached this point:

* Someone no one has seen before in D-1, emerges out of nowhere, with a cause to defend;
* Yours truly briefly engages, has no quarrel with the new obstacle, and bids him farewell;
* That's not good enough for our true believer, who continues to throw himself into my path;
* Barnacle Boy throws down the gauntlet, in anticipation of a glorious, victorious epic duel;
* Sadly for BB, it doesn't go well for him, and he's quickly and easily cut down by his superior;
* Even more pathetic, the now-incapacitated loser doesn't realize he's been vanquished

Luckily for our readers, an EHA/WIS cameraman caught it all on tape for your viewing pleasure …

The moral of the story? Some folks just aren't capable of taking a polite hint.

Re: COVID-19 - Part 2

Is this now the designated thread for the knuckledragging take on everything?

Hey, we didn't ask to be thrown into the <s>faculty lounge</s> Café, Lynah. Big Brother and his devoted sycophants went to the Mods, who dragged this thread into D-1, against our will.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/18eaNSxhK5c" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Now that we've made ourselves comfy … any other threads you'd like us to foul with our presence?

Re: COVID-19 - Part 2

Chuck’s crowing that he vanquished net presence on the topic of coronavirus because he was right about the deplorables comment would be like someone claiming to have disproved general relativity because he found a misplaced comma in one of Einstein’s papers on the photoelectric effect.

Re: COVID-19 - Part 2

How did a thread about a virus turn into a platform for every Trump Humper to post Alex Jones inspired conspiracy theories? :eek:

Also if someone in the "don't listen to the scientists and medical professionals" crowd can tell me what their background in epidemiology or medicine is that would be great! For example I haven't followed Chuck's posts since UNH had a decent hockey team (so like 20 years ago) but I could have sworn his job was operating a roadside squirrel barbeque restaurant in northern New Hampshire. Not sure how the translates into expertise regarding infectious diseases? :confused:

Re: COVID-19 - Part 2

So Chuck ate a bad squirrel and that's why he's gone psycho??? It all makes sense now! :D
Chuck, as seen on his missionary trip to a South Pacific island:
