Unfortunately she’s not in a union and maybe thankfully she’s not a nurse. I told her I imagine the nursing union is going to push back on that. Especially given that other hospitals are requiring PPE.
She’s at will. I just didn’t know if this opens her up to legal jeopardy if she gets sick or something I’m not even seeing.
My guess is her hospital is taking that step for a number of reasons. Might be worried Minnesota ultimately counts these as work comp claims. Might be worried family members of patients claim the hospital isn’t following best practices. Might just have concluded it’s a good idea. I’d be surprised if they’re setting up employees for termination. They’re going to need all hands on deck.
Sorry about the mistake regarding your wife’s job. I had it in my head she was a nurse.
