That's an interesting story. I used to be good at math like that, but I've let my brain become fat and lazy so I would probably play the Program Manager in your story. I've created a general backstop for what happens when someone tells me something at work that I disagree with:
1. Do I understand what they are saying?
2. If yes, can I refute it?
3. If no to either 1 or 2, take their word until someone smarter than both of us can disprove it.

4. There's also the, "Is this person smarter than me?", if yes, buy into what they're saying. This saves a lot of time.

Some good news that there are non-sociopaths out there. The family who owns the small business that provides our maids started a fund for maids' families and the clients contributed $50k and the family then threw in another $10k.

Together they will be providing more actual relief to human beings than the federal f-cking government.

May Arthur Laffer, Dick Cheney, Ronald Reagan, Grover Norquist, and Jude Wanniski burn in hell forevermore, and may the religion of "small government" go the way of all human sacrifice cults.

When Li’l Don-Don Jr. went on a rant about how the Demonrats are hoping that millions would die I thought he was just being a stupid pr•ck, I didn’t know it was straight projection of Trumpism.

Only if the mother has started to produce antibodies in quantities large enough to protect the infant and only if they are the right type of antibodies.

After birth, it varies. At least some antibodies are passed through breast milk. In large enough quantities to protect the baby? No clue.

They can't get help, because there is no help to get (various situations), or they won't get help (see: hoax believers/etc).
