Imagine the secrecy of China but way worse infrastructure.

Is it worse? Chinese hospitals and schools have a way of collapsing.

I am assuming China and Russia are reporting less than 10% of their real numbers. It's what it would be like here if Dump and the GOP had their way.

Italy's lockdown would've never been tolerated by the right here in the US. They'd have gone out packing heat and threatening cops by the end of week one.

It was barely tolerated in Italy! Remember all the Italian mayors, yelling at people about haircuts, suddenly taking up running, and their dogs being full of sh*t?

Sorry by infrastructure I mean health system. Building infrastructure is just a part of it. Outside of a few big cities, Russia’s system is pretty bleak

Imagine that - the Italians, of all people, are better at following rules than we are.

I'd guess they've decided they've played out the "if we predict a tiny number of deaths that will magically come true" strategy and are now going with the "if we totally overestimate the number then we will look like heroes!!!" strategy.

"As President Trump presses for states to reopen their economies, his administration is privately projecting a steady rise in the number of cases and deaths from the coronavirus over the next several weeks, reaching about 3,000 daily deaths on June 1, according to an internal document obtained by The New York Times, nearly double from the current level of about 1,750.
But that doesn't mean their overestimate is, in fact, an overestimate."

More importantly, they're pushing states to re-open even as they're predicting a rising death toll because of it. They want to kill you.

Tol;d you he'd never let the country shut back down again once he got it opening up.

I'm still not confident our curve is flat because of our lockdowns or distancing, at least not alone.

The daily new cases curve is just incredibly suspicious. I called it a sort of "tree line". You don't just interrupt exponential growth. Not in nature. There's almost always a sigmoid in total cases and a skewed distribution in new cases. Our curves should look more like Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Italy, etc.

Pure speculation, but I still think this shows a bottleneck due to testing. I just don't believe this is accurate. Especially when I don't think more than a handful of red states are even trying to be honest.

Re: Covfefe-19: We Can Handle Slight Inconveniences. Part 8.

This is a good way of looking at it.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Josh Marshall has also done some important graphing, wherein NYS, CT, NJ are removed from the case and death counts. This indicates that the U.S. as a whole is still in the ascent towards the peak: <a href="https://t.co/tnpTsPAI3Y">https://t.co/tnpTsPAI3Y</a></p>— Mangy Jay (@magi_jay) <a href="https://twitter.com/magi_jay/status/1257360642224381956?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">May 4, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

It absolutely is. Our numbers of new cases are sitting at roughly the same daily numbers because they're limited by the number of tests we're doing.
