How Trump Wasted the Best Tool He Had to Fight Coronavirus

For Americans it was way way WAY more important to get a businessman outsider in the White House. After all, the economy of the US right now is the envy of the World.

“There are more important things than living, and that’s saving this country for my children and grandchildren and saving this country for all of us,” Texas's GOP Lt. Then go stand in traffic you worthless piece of chit...
Too funny. I read that exactly the opposite way at first. "There are more important things than living [our lives by leaving our homes and going back to normal activities], and that's saving our country [made up of people - all lives are precious] for my children and grandchildren and saving [our citizens] for all of us.

I thought it was notable because a GOP-er made such a bold, compassionate, selfless, noble statement.

Then I read it the other way. :(

I would love to think the Goldwater-Reagan-Dubya-Dump WE NEED AN OUTSIDER! THOSE BELTWAY PEOPLE ARE ELITISTS!!! derp is dead, but of course it isn't. It's evergreen. By definition, there will always be more C students than A students (even if social promotion dictates that C students receive B's now).

Good cartoon. At least Dump's extensive bankruptcy experience should soon prove useful.

Not really. He only has experience in rich people bankruptcy. Not middle class or poor people bankruptcy. Two different animals.

Re: Covfefe-19: We Can Handle Slight Inconveniences. Part 8.

Over the last week, NY daily deaths are decreasing but the US' as a whole are not.

As usual, we led for a long time and then, just when you hayseeds in the rest of the country begin to copy cat, we moved on to something else.

It's hard being the cool kid with 20k deaths.

Wait'll Florida, Texas, and The South really get cranking.

Saw Donnie said yesterday that we were winding this thing down to end up with 50-60,000 deaths total. We'll have 50,000 by the end of this week. There's no way we end up with fewer than 100,000 minimum.

The red states will China their numbers. We will never get accurate counts from there and the ones that are counted will be attributed to Satanic possession.

So, people in my life are going out doing unnecessary things because they are taking care of their mental health. OM FG. One of them is living in Indiana- had the virus, was hospitalized and rec'd ZERO guidance to stay at home, thought once he had no fever he was fine and good to go. Despite me telling him otherwise. I got the what about the economy thing as the secondary excuse. What about it? I get people are suffering economically. However- if someone is non-essential, is willing to to the medically prescribed thing- stay home, and their workplace opens they are forced to go to a non-essential workplace and incur risk because they lose unemployment. Once again the low paid people are the ones who bear all the risk. Makes my blood boil. It also drives home the ugly realization how many people are really selfish and suck.

Posted this in response to someone posting that the current occupant of the White House- “I haven’t left the White House in months.”
It probably feels like that for him. Its probably the longest he's been held accountable to be on task in his adult life. No running away to waste our money so he can golf, no rallies of the fawning faithful to stroke his ego. All these terrible people asking questions about things he should be managing... Life must feel interminable right now for the poor man.

Trying to have the same routine. Get up, have breakfast, listen to the BBC while I get the kitchen to rights, change, put on a face. Then I kind of stall out a bit. Usually I would do errands or go for a walk. Mr les is home, he comes up from 'working' about then and chats for a bit- throwing everything out of wack. If it is nice out I have been trying to work in the garden. Have a wildlife problem and we are refencing and building an enclosure with an 8 ft fence. mr les is not enamored. I have cleaned out files, sorted thru thousands of pictures.

I don't have a beard- yet. mr les cut my hair. I change out of my jammies every day. I put a face on- sort of. I walk at least a mile every day. Most days 2+ miles. Listening to audiobooks when I walk.

Good days and bad days. Good days if I stay off of media which allows me to forget the world has many selfish a55holes. bad days when people start telling me how I am over reacting, believe stupid stuff because it fits with how they wish it should be, claiming the peak has happened.... I still have not figured out how to shut off my immediate reaction to educate. How much is morally and ethically required of you when you see people saying things that could cause harm and might kill people (including those I love) ? Some people don't want to be educated and they think if they ignore reality it will all go away. Knowing they are putting others at risk because at the same time seeing that at the same time as seeing my friends posting about sleeping away from their families, having the Military come to help at their facility because so many of the staff have been taken out from the disease, posting they feel helpless because the national response is so disruptive and harmful- That makes for a really bad day.

When do you propose they'll start doing this? I'm about to write my Governor and tell him not to China our numbers.

Your point would be more salient if you hadnt increased from yesterday to today. Worldometer is showing 630 for yesterday and 760 for today. Muslim math though so take it for what you will ;)

Crap, worldmeter literally updated the NY number while I was composing.

I thought each state only announced once per day now?

Gonna be a tough day. Already 1700 and 3 bad states (NJ, MA, IL) still to go.

There’s a fun paradox going on on the Michigan quarantine page.

1) The state should re-open because the virus isn’t as bad as it seems due to lack of testing. If there were more testing, the fatality rate would drop as all the mild and asymptomatic cases are added.

2) We should not test more because Whitmer is using positive case numbers to judge when to reopen, and mass testing will only result in a longer quarantine.

So, if you include the earlier China paradox, we get the following:

China lied about how dangerous it is, but it is not dangerous enough to quarantine. However, we cannot prove how not-dangerous it is, because doing so will lengthen the quarantine.

I was thinking more like 5 bad states: NJ, Michigan, Mass, Illinois, and Conn. Either way, bad day. Tennessee/Georgia/Florida opening back up shortly is going to f-ck my state over, especially TN.

Re: Covfefe-19: We Can Handle Slight Inconveniences. Part 8.

GA is apparently going full lardtard from what I've read. Assuming they count accurately (a big assumption) they're going to go big in a few weeks.

Re: Covfefe-19: We Can Handle Slight Inconveniences. Part 8.

BTW today is gonna be another stellar day numbers-wise :/

Some update multiple times. Cali has quite a few times actually.

Usually everything is all set by 6pm central.
