Re: Covfefe-19: We Can Handle Slight Inconveniences. Part 8.
I agree things are moving very fast. It is like trying to build a foundation of quicksand. I would feel better if we had leadership that was leadership, that we didn't have the woman 'Dr' who is licking the prez but rather than speak plainly, that we didn't have the presentation of evidence or instruction immediately followed by conflicting advice, encouragement to go against it. I think I posted in here but I may not have- one of the Medical journal editors was being interviewed= they usually have something like 20-25 articles submitted a day. Now >200-250. Too many to vet completely. They are publishing with the label of not being peer reviewed yet.
My issue was more they rammed thru the use of the med to begin with. There was a lot of pressure for it to be used despite what was coming out in other countries saying the studies were flawed. It is just mind boggling to watch the level of denial humans are capable of. The other side of the world is showing us what works and what doesn't and we the feds) are still throwing a tantrum about being told we have it. When my uncle was being treated the Doc I talked to was saying they were pressuring to use med but she wasn't comfortable with how it was going down.I agree it took longer than I would like. However, this is moving fairly fast with regards to guidelines from an institution from the NIH. Most "guideline protocols" would lead to a conclusion of "insufficient evidence for or against" so I am happy they were able to pick a side.
My wife has been part of a sub-specialty guideline group that has been working on a niche set of guidelines. It has been two years and they are just getting to the point of publishing. When there is a lot of literature (think 1000s or 10,000s of papers) it can take a very long time to weed through the crap.
