Good. Per the NYT

“Spain plans to collect and share with other European Union nations information about residents who refuse to get vaccinated for Covid-19, the country’s health minister said.”

Yet, according to you and others, the Dakotas are nothing but pockets of stupid, yet I see that North Dakota has dropped to almost nothing without any real meaningful restrictions at all.

Is this another attempt at being witty...because if this wasn't made with tongue in cheek then yikes.

I like that your thesis is that we were wrong to make fun of the Dakotas because now their numbers dropped after weeks of being insanely high. I am sure it has nothing to do with the low populations of the states and how many got it already...facts don't need to figure in here and we know math doesnt!

Just because you burned through the 14 people that live in the state doesn't prove the point you think it does. The actions their were ridiculous and were proven friggin dangerous. That California has the same level of stupid doesn't make the Dakotas look any better. You just all look like fools.

Considering the absurdly high positive rate, death rate and hospitalization rate in the Dakotas, claiming victory is absolutely and utterly absurd. They could have had virtually zero problems with even the slightest bit of action. Instead they had a huge die off.

But yeah. Own them libs!

Who says anything about declaring victory?

I've posted before, and I'll repeat it. Every area of the country is going to get its chance at being in the hot zone. The virus will ebb and flow throughout the country. In fact, by the time this is all over, we'll all have a chance to have maybe been in the hot zone two or three times.

What's silly is when, say, North Dakota gets its time as the hot zone, people like Handy come in and say it's all due to Republican leadership and stupid people, then the virus subsides and moves on to places like California or New York or wherever, and ebbs in North Dakota, and those same posters come in and claim it ebbed in North Dakota due to proactive safety measures (when none have been taken) and it's going crazy in states filled with Democrats (like California) because it's filled with pockets of stupid Republicans.

Even though we are not supposed to care about the Dakotas, data backs up your point, very loudly.

CA has had 24,331 deaths from Covid, with a population of just over 39M people
ND has had 1,277 deaths from Covid, with a population of barely over 762,00 people.

Man, CA is a wasteland, right.

Except when you normalize that to the population.

Then it's
CA has had 616 deaths per million citizens
ND has had 1676 deaths per million citizens.

Brag all you want things have gone down, and the losses have been minimal. The data suggests very much otherwise.

Looking at all of the state data, normalized to population
NJ is #1 at almost 2100 deaths/M
NY #2 @ 1919/M
Mass #3 @ 1765/M
ND #4 @ 1668/M (different population number)
SD #7 @ 1619/M

Mind you, the point constantly that was made was that both Dakotas had plenty of warning, and they *were* among the lowest of all states up until recently. So they had more than enough time to plan and work though this. But instead, they did relatively nothing, and went from a quiet state to one of the worst states in terms of deaths per millions.

Go ahead and brag about it, you did such a great job. Even though you had many months to see what did and didn't work in NJ, NY, and Mass.

I'm not proud of Michigan- #11 @ 1272/M

You are allowed to be disappointed about MN, but being #27 @ 922/M ain't bad to me.
Even Wisconsin has done well at #31 @ 864/M

BTW, CA is #42 at 618/M
My ID is #35, PR # 46 (counting all US territories here)
DC is #47
Maine is #51 @ 241
Hawaii is 54 @ 201

But the best US territory is American Samoa, no deaths so far.

Look at the data. CA has a high number, but a massive population. It's not really that bad there.

ND has a VERY spread out population, and got the surge late. And it's the 4th worst state (counting all US territories) in the US. Feel free to keep up your narrative. Your "feelings" will be trumped by the data.

One more thing
Looking just at registered cases...

Per Million

#1 ND @ 119,000 cases/M
#2 SD @ 109,000 cases/M

Brag all you want.

CA is #34 @ 55,400 cases/M

Gee, what makes those first three so extremely different from those bottom two. I'm having trouble putting my finger on it. Gimme time, it'll come to me.

So basically, they have about 1/7 of their population already infected. Guess we know where to look to test out the herd mentality theory.

I'll give you months of time to figure it out.

Well, I do know one, they were pretty much the front lines of the initial virus appearance in the country. But there's something else too, I just can't put my finger on it. Think it has something to do with electoral votes in some way, but I'm still trying to figure it all out.

So, no answer as to how ND managed to have its cases, deaths and hospitalizations plunge to some of the lowest in the country these last couple of weeks without the shutdowns, short of herd immunity at 12% infection of the population? Got it.

So you see that it was ok to sacrifice over 1,200 of your citizens for the benefit of the rest, then. Good to know that it's ok to let people just die for the sake of the economy.

Thanks for not noticing that you ended up being the most infected state, and the 4th worst death rate- behind only the NE states that were very early in this pandemic. Not doing anything put a massive strain on the health system, and murdered so many citizens. All worth it so that masks were not required.

Time to just go back to ignoring the Dakotas, as you suggest. "Just let people die" should be your state's slogan.
