But you bring up the right direction- the people who get vaccinated first are the most exposed and vulnerable, and then the group where the spread is the fastest. Thanks to the lack of real response, prisons happen to spread the virus pretty fast, and it gets out quickly from there.

Too bad that we had to make a science issue such a political problem, as 1) we would not be so sad about the number of deaths, and 2) it would not be a big deal that people in the racist party got vaccinated, as they would not be the most hypocritical group of people of all time. But we are where we are largely because their worship decided to make this a political problem when he fully knew how serious this would be, and how many would die.

I'm amazed how many people are going to die just because the whim of one person, in the United States of America.

This sums you up the best. ^^ If your principal prism for understanding the world is Democrats v. GOP, or even liberals v. conservatives (in the establishment/traditional sense of those terms), you'll end up propagandized and understanding nothing, a MSNBC/CNN viewer, basically.

So we are piloting a new video conferencing client for our Telemedicine visits today. I'm on a facetime call with the doctor testing it, and doing a sort of virtual elbow support while he uses the new system with a patient who... stop me if you've heard this... caught COVID after a thanksgiving family gathering.

I hope the guy is ok - he's frustrated and mildly sick and annoyed that it's lingered for weeks. I wish him nothing but health and happiness.

But again. This is 100% avoidable.

I also think when you add in the rather natural distancing here in the Mid-West, that helps a lot. Lots of areas in CA don't have that luxury, and the equally dense areas are significantly larger.

It would also be interesting to see the amount of "essential workers", and their density (in addition to the homeless issues).

Oh, and the migrant workers- I'm sure there are a lot more of them in CA, and their living conditions are not exactly separation. We can't forget that the worst impacted economic segment in the lowest in this pandemic.

Yet, according to you and others, the Dakotas are nothing but pockets of stupid, yet I see that North Dakota has dropped to almost nothing without any real meaningful restrictions at all.

Considering the absurdly high positive rate, death rate and hospitalization rate in the Dakotas, claiming victory is absolutely and utterly absurd. They could have had virtually zero problems with even the slightest bit of action. Instead they had a huge die off.

But yeah. Own them libs!

False. MN peaked before the restrictions went into place. The data is all there don’t be lazy.

In fact 6 surrounding Midwestern states all peaked within 6 days of each other. All with varying degrees of mandates, some strict, some without any at all.

What are the Dakota’s hospitalization and death rates and compared to say the previous 3 or 5 years?

You are a Science guy, correct? Maybe it’s time to start acting like it.
