And FWIW I believe Cinemark was first to say they wont require masks. They "encourage it" which is just them hedging their bet. Also Regal does not require masks either. AMC just has a moron for a CEO who doesnt know when to shut up.

As movie theaters set to reopen, several major chains have outlined their plans to protect moviegoers from COVID-19. But critics on social media say that cinemas are not going far enough if they do not require customers to wear face masks.

AMC Theaters, Regal Cinemas and Cinemark all said in their reopening plans released this week that employees will be required to wear masks and other personal protective equipment, but the same will not be asked of customers unless local or state officials mandate the use of masks in public spaces. Instead, they will be encouraged to use masks, with AMC saying on Thursday that they will have masks available for $1.

It is a calculated risk. They know the Cletus' will refuse to show up if they feel any of their freedums are taken away.

2 weeks ago the positive rate was 2%. So it isnt the uptick in tests because then the positive rate would be flat.

Florida is such a scam- when I looked this morning, the deaths last week were in the mid teens- now they are 20. It will be interesting to see this tomorrow.

I think I posted this conclusion- but we were supposed to fly to Puerto Rico next Saturday, and if it were a direct flight, we might take the risk. But going through Atlanta exposes us to a whole additional group of people, in a hot spot state, north of a white hot state- some of which are travelling. No travel south. Unless there's a real family issue, and we just have to get there.

Enough of the crap that we have to do this for the economy- get rid of the Clinton, Bush, and dumpy tax cuts, and hand all of that money to people who have lost their jobs. And then all other companies- help them go virtual like the river in South America is. That will keep the economy going just enough. A hard quarantine would still work really well.

Instead, people are convinced people have to die for the economy. Funny- if any of you watched Time Ghost's videos on the Plague- that actually happened then, too. Places that shut down very harshly were able to get back going sooner and with less of an impact, and the places that forced things back open suffered a greater economic impact. This has happened before, hundreds of years ago, to the exact same playbook. Given the current hate on being smart, it's hardly surprising it plays out like that.
