Do you think MA positive cases are going up because there’s more testing being done? As I mentioned, I got a call from my city’s mayor saying anyone could now get a test, no need for a doctor referral.

At this point I think a lot of the experts are tracking the positive rate more than they are tracking the number of positive cases.

I read yesterday in the WSJ that at this point we can treat covid significantly better than we could a couple months ago. If that is true how are 1k people still dying a day?

The percentage of tests that are positive is increasing so that is not just the number of tests being done.

I know up where I am the number of parties with multiple people not making any attempt to be careful is nuts. I walk every day and every single day I walk by one or 2 places holding parties with lots of cars from different States. In my neighborhood last week the 2 houses down the road had a party 3 days in a row.

People can't seem to grasp that slow open isn't supposed to mean all is good- par-tay!

Apparently VT has decided to code locations that are high risk. Creative way to handle it.

I read it they can come back to VT without quarantining from a different State as long as they have been in a 'safe' county. My SIL has read this as they can travel into safe counties in NH and ME without quarantining even tho both States say you are supposed to quarantine for 14 days. I cannot see anywhere this is a reciprocal thing. How do you guys read this?

Just because you can treat people better doesnt mean that others wont die. Some people you can try everything for and they are still going to die.

I wish the media would pivot back to talking about the impact on those that live is. That is what is getting lost. the trolls and the nimrods pretend that once you beat it then it is back to life as usual. That isnt true at all and that is the case no matter if you are young or old. My student who had it has permanent lung damage. People act like this is Strep or something where you are cured and all is well and that needs to change.

I believe at this point only scholarship athletes can work out, so that’s about 6% of the team that would be on campus. Although according to the article only 30 players showed up so that’s around 15% of people coming back.

Asymptomatic is good, and these guys will have preferential testing treatment, but I can’t imagine this is going to end well when entire campuses come back.

Huh....shocking you chose not to respond to that. Jeb, If you’re going to try and actually “debate” us on here, then actually respond to the specific points raised against you and defend your points with specific, facts based info and logic. When you don’t, it pretty much says you’ve lost the debate/argument.

Who is “us” no one here is debating anything. You may be. Most post irrelevant tweets and make almost zero point like Rufus.

I’ve already said I would have protected the most vulnerable as a top priority. You agreed that there were many mistakes there.

Let’s put it this way in a state like MN. No lock down + not completely botching the long term health care facilities would have had a much better outcome than what actually took place, lockdowns + disastrous long term policy.

40% of deaths In the country have happened in LTC facilities

And with the latter we got a destroyed economy and other health related consequences as well.

Very, very few are interested in any sort of lock down at this point. Unless you hang out in some nook like what we have here.

I've been ignoring him for a while now.

For the SEC schools, what happens when someone's parents die from it because son brings it home from the football team? Will it be then when the kids realize that they are not the ones who will be making any money with playing football??? Seems pretty pathetic that schools are going to play football w/o students. Because money.

Here's what's really stunning, that I know of yet, no positive results here at Michigan. Why? No football. Done.
