So much for Trump "buying us time" to fight the virus.

A review of federal purchasing contracts by The Associated Press shows federal agencies largely waited until mid-March to begin placing bulk orders of N95 respirator masks, mechanical ventilators and other equipment needed by front-line health care workers.

BoJo admitted you hospital ten days after testing positive

Hopefully this Mayo Clinic antibody teat can be scaled up fast. Like, really fast. Most of the blood tests I had done were fairly quick when they were testing me for every disease known to man last year.

I assume it’s better than swabbing. But are blood tests generally better than sputum, for example? Again, I assume they are. But just don’t know if they’re more specific and accurate. Hopefully both. Also, how early is it detectable in blood vs swabs or sputum?

I just don’t trust swabs to be great in catching all cases especially given the Lancet’s paper about detecting the virus in throat and stool.

Antibody tests are fast, but it takes a little while for your body to begin producing them. The standard swab tests are PCR and are looking for a few sars-cov-2 genes and I think they would pickup and an infection before an antibody test.

“ BREAKING: A tiger at the Bronx Zoo in New York City has tested positive for the coronavirus, marking the first known case of the virus being detected in an animal in the U.S., as well as the first confirmed case in a tiger anywhere in the world.”

Ah today’s presser.

Yeah why any of you waste time over there is beyond me. You arent changing anyone's mind. You might as well go to 4chan and tell them to stop trolling Zoom meetings with the porn they watch cause no girl would touch them for all the good it will do ya.

Walk away, save your sanity.

They are probably not, but it's much more respectful and even if in disagreement, there's usually a certain amount of respect. As in, "I get your point, but not for me, let's move on."

We enjoy it. It's an indulgence. Not as good as but not unlike reading a book that is, at times, fun or even compelling. But 95% of the posts in these political threads come from maybe 15-20 people. We are not effecting change.
