Re: Covfefe 19: now in 3D
*sigh*
1. There are at-risk people out there. I'm one of them. I stay home (minus work, and I work with one other person). I follow the guidelines for sanitizing.
2. There are non-risk people (in general) that also follow guidelines, hey, free to go.
3. There are people out there who don't follow guidelines, and are also healthy and not at-risk. Those people need to stay home.
It's not just bars. It's any public space she's calling out. That is a bit over-reacting, IMO. See situation #2.
You are dead wrong here. Everyone, even thought “not at-risk” should be avoiding public spaces and contact with people that are outside their household as much as possible
Unless your goal is a mandatory lockdown like Italy.
This post of yours is panic, IMO. If you follow the rules, so to speak, I believe you will be fine in public. I would not be paralyzed if I fell into situation #2. Unfortunately, I don't qualify, so I am taking precautions.
Plus, kids seem to be mostly immune to this illness. It's really weird.
And hopefully, people tip like they do when there's a big snowstorm or something, for delivery folks. I know I tip more in that situation.
OK, Trying to be respectful and not virtually grab you by the throat. Maybe you haven't been following along with all the posts here so I will review.
There is NO WAY to tell someone is not infected. That means there are no non-risk people. Zero.
In order to know someone is not infected you would need to do serial testing with a fast result test on a daily basis. We do not have that. We do not even have testing.
If you are infected you shed virus.
You do not need to show symptoms to shed virus. A very large amount of viral shed usually occurs before symptoms are evident
This means all the younger people who appear healthy are like trojan horses. They shed virus like hell but are not aware of it.
Kids ARE NOT immune to the illness. They are less likely to end up dead but there is zero evidence that they do not get infection.
So in brief- the people who appear the healthiest are the most likely to spread the virus. They shut everything down because that is the only way they can prevent these healthy walking viral loads from spreading.
If you are a responsible person you should #staythefvckhome.
If you do not stay home you are guilty of putting peoples lives at risk.
THe only time anyone should be going out is if it is absolutely necessary. THis does not include going out to be social, party, go tot he movies, or any other thing that is not task driven for survival.
This is not being panic driven. This is responding to the fact that to not follow this will result in spread and putting people like you who are immuno-compromised in harms way.
We all wish we could do what we want. No one likes to be told they can't do stuff they like but staying home should be everyone. Not just the people who are at increased risk to die.
