Re: Covfefe 19: now in 3D

Hardly the good stuff for food, but Domino’s has a new pizza delivery process called “contactless”. They will ring your doorbell, set the food down on your stoop, and then move back 10ft or so to make sure you gather the food before the deliverer leaves. You order on the app, pay and tip through a credit card prior to delivery, and there you have it.

I've been ordering Domino's since I've been stuck in. Not doing that here. Still have to sign for it. I've been good about telling them just to leave it and trying to stay back from them at least.

I am under 40 but very happy to be done with the bar scene phase of my life and that my kids are nowhere near that phase. A good night for me is cleaning up the house and being in bed before 11.

I went to DD drive thru this morning and grocery store in afternoon. Rest of the day at home/in backyard with the kids. Hope we don't get to a point where even that type of routine is a problem.

*sigh*
1. There are at-risk people out there. I'm one of them. I stay home (minus work, and I work with one other person). I follow the guidelines for sanitizing.
2. There are non-risk people (in general) that also follow guidelines, hey, free to go.
3. There are people out there who don't follow guidelines, and are also healthy and not at-risk. Those people need to stay home.

It's not just bars. It's any public space she's calling out. That is a bit over-reacting, IMO. See situation #2.

You are dead wrong here. Everyone, even thought “not at-risk” should be avoiding public spaces and contact with people that are outside their household as much as possible

Unless your goal is a mandatory lockdown like Italy.

This post of yours is panic, IMO. If you follow the rules, so to speak, I believe you will be fine in public. I would not be paralyzed if I fell into situation #2. Unfortunately, I don't qualify, so I am taking precautions.

Jesus Christ you are dense. The experts are literally saying we need to do this now. Without social distancing, the number infected will double every 2-5 days and overwhelm our heathcare system before the end of April.

If we all do our ****ing job this will look like a big overreaction. If we are all like you we end up on mandatory lockdown.

End up like me....following the rules? D'okay. Listen to yourself...really.

**** you.

Schools should be closed. Everyone that can, should be working from home. Concerts, events, should be closed. No one, even “low risk”, should be going to bars. ****s about to hit the fan in France and they’ve closed all bars, restaurants, clubs.

And if you have the resources, go to local businesses (or their websites) and buy gift certificates. They get some money now and when all this is over, you get a nice meal or a free movie or something.

And I drive for Door Dash; it's "fun money" for me. Good tips help me keep up the gas in my car as well.

Don't know if it's been reported here, but Sniffles tested negative for Covid-19. That was quick.

Door Dash just introduced that option. I have a hunch I'll be doing those a whole lot more.

I was at a lovely local brunch spot today and I tipped something like 25%.

I don't envy you doing delivery during this. The Gideon campaign asked me to do canvassing this weekend. First, no because I'm semi-quarantined unless I absolutely have to go out. Second, is going door-to-door really the best idea right now?

I agree, door to door is not good. I like the doorbell idea. Kudos to that.

Why is New York not closing schools?

There might be a couple of reasons. Kids get at least one meal per day at school. Not everyone can make that up. Second, if the kids stay home then in many cases so does a parent. That means the parent can't work. That means no money (since paid leave is Socialism) and lost productivity for businesses. Third, I know that decision has been left up to local administrators in other states (NH being the latest) instead of mandated by the state.
