Re: Covfefe-19: Do What Now?

Wow marker is going down as he talks.

Reporter asks what message can he give to people who are scared. He tells reporter it’s a terrible question.

I hope everyone who voted for this reaps what they’ve sewn.

Re: Covfefe-19: Do What Now?

I saw a few national guard trucks on highway just now in Minnesota.

Re: Covfefe-19: Do What Now?

Spain just passed Iran for total cases since incept.

I can't imagine what India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Nigeria are going to look like when they get real numbers (in 10 years assuming they don't go into civil war).

Re: Covfefe-19: Do What Now?

My Trumpist colleague, who has been shopping like mad the last couple of weeks based on the sage advice of a Facebook meme called something like "buy bullets and beans" is planning a neighborhood watch schedule with his buddy, they both have AR-15s and they will be marching the road armed, in case they see anyone who's body they can later identify as a probable looter.

People are getting a little anxious.

Call the cops and report them as suspicious.

Re: Covfefe-19: Do What Now?

Are we still testing only people with obvious signs? I need more explanation on why we are testing people who are obviously ill. Just assume symptoms are COVID-19. Does it make more sense to test those around people who are obviously ill to help see how prevalent the transmission is?

Speaking specifically of the testing in Cleveland which is the only place I have more knowledge than just internet "knowledge", the vast majority tested are those with signs or known exposure to a Covid-19 patient with a priority for those in health care. This is not a representative sample but honestly I could propose reasons for both under and over estimation with this when applied to the general public to try to estimate overall prevalence.

I agree that broader testing at this point is essential, however I just do not think the capability is there yet from what I am seeing when the rubber hits the road. I personally have no control over that so I try not to worry to much about that and am just trying to give some context to some of the numbers that are being thrown around. The testing will help us model better however the fact remains that "common sense" precautions are still quite high yield and in our control. Wash you hands. Don't touch your face. Limit public exposure as much as safely possible. If you are sick, stay the **** home regardless if it is Covid-19 or not.

So far I think it's just talk. It's exciting, like they're kind of hoping for anarchy.
Also, this is Houghton Co. MI, so the cops might just give them a commendation and a free box of ammo.
