Covfefe-19: Do What Now?

I feel the same way about the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and the Northwoods of Wisconsin. It's there, but the lack of testing (or the shrug off of "well, it ain't 'the flu,' but a variation of the flu," is artificially keeping the numbers down/non-existent.
I heard third hand that a doctor up here said we’ve probably had it going around for a while now, but no tests. An elderly friend of ours died a couple days ago after being in intensive care with “had trouble breathing “ for a week or so. Lifelong smoker , on oxygen, not that surprising on its own:

Re: Covfefe-19: Do What Now?

Mayor Lightfoot out here sounding calm, informative, and direct to the City of Chicago and the suburbs.

What a 180 from a mere six hours ago with Trump addressing the nation.

It's interesting to watch the State Government here in Alaska. Dunleavy hasn't spoken much at any of the press briefings, he mostly leaves the speaking to the Chief Medical Officer who's done ok.

Re: Covfefe-19: Do What Now?

On hold with Delta cause rumors are flying all air travel will be shut down before our flight back Monday...FML.

Re: Covfefe-19: Do What Now?

From the Mayor:

- Anyone who is sick with cough, fever, shortness of breath, or even if you *think* you're coming down with something (fever, chills, etc.), STAY THE FU** HOME. Unless you need to get groceries or medicines, stay home.
- Schools are to remain closed through April 20th.
- Efforts CPS has done for students (food services, day care, etc) will continue.
- Local economy is hurting, but will bounce back due.
- City revenues are spread out, down economies like tourism/hospitality will not cause a shortage.
- City of Chicago refinanced loans earlier this year, city coffers are flush with cash.
- Ticketing/Impounding/City fines suspended until April 30.

If you're sick, call someone to deliver. JFC, don't go out to the grocery store.

I met a woman on OK Cupid. We were supposed to meet in April when I got her from the train station in Holland, and we were going to spend the weekend together. However, I don't think that's going to happen now.

Re: Covfefe-19: Do What Now?

This has been amazing watching President Lightfoot make her address tonight. Shame Mayor Trump couldn't do the same earlier today.

Re: Covfefe-19: Do What Now?

Honest question, is that flaggy in the other covid thread? Or is that other poster really that stupid?
