Covfefe-19 2020 part the second: Wash Your Hands

He can say what he wants...he doesnt know how long this is going to last and the NBA season already goes til June. The NBAPA will pitch a fit if they have to play games in August. Not to mention their already sagging ratings will go in the toilet against the onslaught of the NFL in the summer.

Not to mention Cuban is hated by the rest of the league which means they might do it just to spite him ;)

There are reports that some owners want to move the season to be Christmas-August. This may just be the perfect time for a trial program.

Nah but if the season gets cancelled it is the perfect reason to make the shift for next year.

Cuban is out to lunch. The NBAs only real hope is a month from now they can play in front of fans. If they cant the summer version of the league will be terrible. If the season hadnt started it could be fun (like the post lockout year) but a midseason break of a month or two? Yikes

I will admit though I find the NBA pretty much unwatchable anyways these days...but I think most of the casuals will tune out after June anyways even if they switch the league dates in the future. The NFL controls everything. Rookie practices would get higher ratings in many markets.

Somebody pointed out that exempting the UK from the travel ban saves Dump's hotels.

Re: Covfefe-19 2020 part the second: Wash Your Hands

The paper value is fictitious, but it is true that somebody now has equities whose volume translates to that (paper) value once the market recovers, which, eventually, it will.

I wasn't trying to be conspiratorial and I regret that interpretation was put on this. I thought what I was saying was non-controversial but I suppose in this climate everything is going to be interpreted in the worst possible light. Please forget I said anything.

I got what you said.

There is always someone who makes a fortune from a disaster.

Re: Covfefe-19 2020 part the second: Wash Your Hands

My company has been quietly working behind the scenes to talk with management about limiting travel to sites, conducting meetings remotely, no visitors.

Gee, you think this would be good info to publish to everyone? That last email they sent was a ****ing disgrace. I get you can't make all of your plans public, but jfc, if you are locking everything down, maybe make it clear to your employees you think it's ****ing bad and it's not "just business as usual"

I have to admit, for how critical I am at times concerning my company, the last few days they have done very well with this.

They laid out a nice reasonable policy concerning trying to prevent the spread, what happens if you think you have it, what will happen if you travel to a "banned" country, etc.

Meanwhile, all company travel (except between plants in the same city), including domestic is banned except for special circumstances (and even then you have to get a lot of top managers to sign off on it). Absolutely no visitors at all. And be prepared to work from home if that edict comes down.

I thought CPAC was over?

From that thread:

The World Health Organization has announced that dogs cannot contract Covid-19. Dogs previously held in quarantine can now be released. To be clear, WHO let the dogs out.

Re: Covfefe-19 2020 part the second: Wash Your Hands

Nice article in Jacobin about how austerity budgeting destroyed emergency response and made the virus response so much weaker. Just another gift from the neoliberals.

Re: Covfefe-19 2020 part the second: Wash Your Hands

Well, I got tested this morning. Thought I had the flu (achy, fatigue, fever, no respiratory issues). Flu test came back negative, so they did the coronavirus test and sent it off to the state (CO). Now I get to self isolate for 48 hours while awaiting results.

That's odd, the apes weren't supposed to rise up until next month. This throw my timetables all out of whack.

Re: Covfefe-19 2020 part the second: Wash Your Hands

So one of my dr friends is now in a private chat group with a guy working with Jared, and asking the docs what to do.

I actually believe this.

I believe it. The lines do cross sometimes. My college history prof got called to DC to give Reagan a one-on-one briefing about Central America relations during the Nicaragua standoff. (Reagan was, in his words, incurious and inattentive.)

Even though they are distant they're all just some other as-shole breathing the same fetid air as we. Never think they're special.

The ape rising happens after we have to kill all our dogs and cats and adopt apes as pets.

They were clearly angry about the WHO clearing dogs.
