Our Synagogue hasn't shut down, but has communicated that if you're feeling sick or have been exposed to someone that is, stay home.

From the email:

Reading through the other thread it occurs to me that, as a race, we may not deserve to live. Wipe us out and start over.

Governor Inslee of WA just banned gatherings >250 people for the three most populated counties in the state (King, Snohomish, Pierce) unit the end of March. For those not familiar the major cities include Seattle, Everett and Tacoma.

Michigan just declared an emergency- restricting group events, being ready to test, test, and test some more. Asking companies to allow telework, and open up their sick day policy, and begging over and over again that if you are sick, stay home.

Instead of being alarming, the news conference was pretty reassuring, and made the point that the actions are to prevent spread and get this over with asap.

Detroit followed that just about 10 min later with the same thing, adding that water will not be shut off.

Makes me wonder if TV channels should have some commercials describing the best practices just like our governor did. And explaining carefully that the goal is to prevent spread and keeping this out.

So much unlike the federal response.

well, if you consider they have yet to say anything that was not immediately corrected by WHO or someone who is with CDC...

They stopped the cup part before Christmas because of the annual flu around here.

Jared's got to do research. All the people at the CDC and WHO and everywhere else in this country who have studied this chit their entire lives, they can't be depended upon to deal with it, we have to wait while Jared researches it.
