Re: Covfefe-19 2020 part the second: Wash Your Hands

My work is crazy busy. My job is rated 12 man-hours (at most) normally. That means I work 8 hours, and my co-worker (who has other responsibilities) helps out for about half his shift.

This week, along with some help from the main building, the job has been 20-24 man-hours. Over the last 3 days, we've shipped over 2000 cases of TP and paper towels. Our supplies, depending on the exact item, are either low, or completely out. Our biggest seller, of which we usually have 450 cases for regular stock, and another 450 cases in "reserve," is down to about a 50 case supply.

We're scrambling to get extra trucks to load, because all our trucks are packed to the gills. There are some points, we just wait for enough orders to build up, so we can take the whole pallet off the shelf, instead of hand-loading the cases throughout the day. We don't have to wait long.

Governor Dumbleavy er Dunleavy has announced Alaska’s first Coronavirus case.

The only info they’ve given is he came off of an international cargo flight.

Great.

School closings picking up in MA. Will be very interesting to see how companies handle this with all these working parents now having to figure out what to do with their kids.

So...the White House, which has access to the CDC at a moment's notice and can summon top experts from Hopkins, Mayo, Mass General, wherever...instead they're getting medical advice from Facebook.

This is terrifying.

At least it's an ER Doc page and not Info Wars...so, it could be worse.

Not coming at this from any angle but pretty remarkable to me that Gobert has it but only one of his teammates tested positive.

Well this is good news at least.

As of now, I have no idea how or if this will affect me. We were expecting 80 people to retire from our group in the next year. But being #473 out of 481 doesn't leave me with a ton of confidence.

EDIT: Needless to say, I am a HUGE fan of an airline bailout package right now.

Well best of luck. I’ve been there before and it sucked *** even though I was living at home still. Can’t imagine having real financial responsibilities.
