Hey hockey genius
I hate to break it to you, but I don't think too many teams are likely to listen much to your advice any time soon...particularly where goaltending is concerned. Cornell's done pretty well with their goalie haven't they? Noticed her save percentage is >92%...as are the goalies for Harvard and Clarkson you've gone on record as saying should sit. Hmm. But wait, didn't you actually suggest too that Clarkson should be sitting her in favour of a goalie with a save percentage <85%? Yeah, right.
Cornell has certainly proven they are for real, and with 4 incoming/returning national level players they will get even better next year. But here's a news bulletin for ya. None of the other top teams are exactly standing still either. Harvard and Clarkson also have 4 incoming national team players each, so neither are particularly likely to just fade into the woodwork. Oh, and Minnesota and UMD? Even more incoming national team players. And everyone's heard about the two really high profile BU NWT transfers with a potential to also add the 2 top recruits in NA to that total. Can YOU deal with all that?
If you thought there was a lot of exciting hockey this year, I'd say you really ain't seen nothing yet.
Congrats to Cornell on a great season. We hope to see you next year in Erie.
Also, I was scanning the uscho.com write up of the game and came across tthe following very nice compliment from UMD's coach Miller:
“I want to make a comment about Cornell”, said Miller. “I thought they were amazing — absolutely amazing. Both teams with a very strong will to win. You saw it in every footrace and every battle, every single shift.”
Yes others will get better too but Cornell is going to be the ECAC team to beat next year. You heard it here first.
Congrats to Cornell -a great team and and a very well played game.

Apparently. Based on the preseason coaches' poll, the league didn't really see it coming. Nor did they predict Qunnipiac's improvement.Nice write-up on the CU site. Although, it was a bit sad to be reminded that the Big Red never finished higher than 5th in the ECACs.
What do you think? Could this year be the year?
Cornell and Colgate garner slot Nos. 7 and 8, respectively, while Quinnipiac which begins its second campaign under head coach Rick Seeley was selected in the No. 9 position in the preseason coaches' poll.
Just wanted to express my admiration for Cornell. Although I'm a UMD fan and not unhappy with the final outcome, I was blown away by Cornell's performance against Mercyhurst and in the Championship game....I hope we get to play you again...
What on earth were the human voters in the women's hockey polls thinking late in the season when Cornell didn't even appear in the top ten? There obviously was no mental adjustment being made for the three Cornell losses that occurred when the early-January team was missing three first- or second-team All Americans. It doesn't take seemingly knowledgable observers of the sport to rotely order teams by winning percentage and ignore what appears a pretty significant factor on the team's won-loss record.
