Rage inducing. (Perhaps especially for Kepler)

Obviously the officer that is talking is garbage, but I can’t help but focus on the one wearing the camera.

“This thing is on.” Not “That’s not okay.”

Worried about his buddy getting in trouble. Not to mention all the other officers just hanging out listening to the story. Have fun reforming that.

yup

both should be fired today and prosecuted tomorrow

Heroes. One and all.

For the life of me I do not know how anyone other than a bigot can support law enforcement anymore. Of course that does say why a good 40% of this country buys all that "thin blue line" bull5h!t I guess. Phony tough.

Same reason the same people typically support religious leaders, the military, and the Republicans.

I don't see how you get a truly untainted jury in Minnesota.

About the best you could find, IMO, is to have as many people as possible who have close connections to both law enforcement officers and minorities staring down the barrel of their guns. Even then, such a person would still be swayed to once side of the argument or the other prior to the trial.

And given the national attention, I don't know where you would find an unbiased juror within the nation.

No leaking necessary. As the document discloses, this will be a public document effective the end of the trial.

Even if you don't get picked? That will at least discourage many people from deliberately trying to avoid duty by writing up some "I HATE THE FCKING COPS, FRY 'EM LIKE BACON" or "FLOYD WAS A DRUGGIE AND DESERVED IT" screed in their responses.

Holy hell. Imagine if your (general) completed form was leaked. There is no way to win this unless you don’t play.

What would be the big deal? Unless the trial goes sideways there isnt anything too controversial on that form. Jurors identities get found out all the time after the fact hell members of the OJ Jury wrote books and did talk shows.

It depends. I doubt it would show up in a background check if you arent selected but every time you are up for Jury Duty my guess is it will be flagged for review. If you never want to be part of a trial best way is to admit massive bias just avoid inflammatory language.

For example...say you have seen law enforcement use excessive force or that you know a lot of people in law enforcement. Then name weird types of media you watch/podcast that are fringe on all sides. You wont be picked for anything.

I tell you what. Print out the form, fill it out completely and honestly, as required by the form, then throw it up on the board here and let us take a look at it. Or, throw it out on twitter or GPL, or someplace like that.

That form goes way beyond any standard jury form I've ever seen. I wouldn't want to put half that shiat in writing regardless of my answer. Most of those questions should be asked at voir dire and potentially in chambers if needed.

And telling people the specific trial they've been picked for ahead of time? Also not normal.

This reeks of someone putting judicial economy ahead of juror's rights (why take 4 weeks for jury selection if we can get everyone to answer these ahead of time). And that's horse hockey.
