Yeah, I tend to assume that pretty much everyone has the ability to gather information on me, and use it, if they choose. I don't lose any sleep over it because, a) I'm not doing anything illegal, b) if they want to find me, I'm not that hard to find and I've already given them my home address, work address, social security number, make/model/license plate number of my cars, and a host of other information and c) if the government is wasting their time following me and what I do, it's not all bad, because they ain't going to find anything and by wasting their time on me, they are diverting resources from doing something truly reprehensible.

So, let me get this straight. Because people are frightened to miss out on the latest inane post by their twitter buddies, at all hours of the day, and absolutely must be able to share a picture of the dump Fifi took in the park that looks like Trump's hairdo, they voluntarily and without question agree to let corporations track their whereabouts day and night, and let those same corporations sell their whereabouts to anyone interested, those people are now bitter the government may have an interest in purchasing that commercially available data to see what you might be doing?

Ok.

So you're cool with the USG purchasing sales databases from gun manufacturers so they can compile a registry of guns and owners?

Ok.

So because they are evil morons who tend to destroy everything you are cool with them doing something illegal and unethical to prevent them from doing something else illegal and unethical? That is some twisted logic there man...

Well the precedent has been set...I guess Biden now has the right to spy on everyone. Does that mean Obama did too when he...oh I dont know...supposedly spied on Trump? (which he of course never did but just saying)

Sure.

First, gun manufacturers don't maintain a registry of guns and gun owners, I don't believe, unless you affirmatively choose to notify them by filing a warranty card or something.

Second, every time I've bought a gun I've had to fill out one of these. If the government chooses to buy information they already had in their possession, well, that seems like a very government like thing to do.

The government already has all of this information. However, they have chosen to pass a law that says that once they get it, they'll destroy it and won't keep track of it, which also seems like a very government thing to do.

Isn't legislating fun?

Everyone is spying on everyone else. For crying out loud, my wife put up a doorbell with a camera that dings her cell phone every time I pull into the driveway early to sneak out and play golf.

If you want to keep something a secret, including your whereabouts, here is a suggestion. Don't tell anyone.

That's why I love that Apple commercial with people walking around announcing their credit card number, their medical information, nasty emails about co-workers, etc... That's what everyone is doing every single day without thinking about it, and it kind of makes me laugh. It's like someone whining about persons finding out what people post here.

NRA lobbying fully supported by your party is fun, yes. That crap happens because the gun fondlers and the GOP have been thick as thieves (an apt phrase) for the last 40 years. Passive voice is not afoot here, it's you f-cks and a handful of Dems from derp districts.

Well, you’re going to be in charge in a couple of months so I expect you’ll correct that problem.

Yeah I have that as well...but that doesn't mean I want Tim Walz to have access to it.

I consented to a corporation having that data. Did I consent to letting a government agency or another third party have that data? If not, they shouldn't have it or use it.

Why did their face get in the way of the gas?

Their right to vote doesn't negate the cops right to be total fcuking racist toolbags!
