Re: Cops 9: You Are What Now?

Yesterday at the Pig.

So if black lives matter when it's police brutality, why don't they matter in the streets of Chicago? Ya'll ignoring that article I posted. I wonder why.

This is America. All lives matter.

Yes, all lives matter. All homes matter, too. But if my home is burning and yours isn’t, then I assert that my home matters more at this particular moment. And I want my home addressed by the fire department right f—king now. Yours can wait.

Reinhard Heydrich weighs in. Fake News NYT with the assist. They're totally biased against conservatives though. ;)

The senator could use this lesson.

Agree to a point. I haven't followed violence in Chicago though. Has it been on the rise? It actually doesn't have to be one or the other by the way. We should be able to handle improving multiple situations at once.

You improve multiple situations by starting with the most grievous situations first. Right now, as demonstrated in Mpls last week, it’s the government’s agents killing black people over an incident that started with a fake $20 bill, which we can’t even be sure if George Floyd knew it was a fake. And it’s not like his manner of death was unique for that section of the population.

Re: Cops 9: You Are What Now?

By all means start there. But that shouldn't prevent us from doing both at the same time. But then again it's impossible to accomplish anything in our country so maybe you're right. Put the resources into one issue and hope for the best!

Concrete too. Hair Furor is positively sh*tting his pants.

Re: Cops 9: You Are What Now?

Florida.

Nuff said.

Florida has nothing to do with it. Minneapolis? Nuff said?

In Elkhart Indiana, reporting by Pro-Publica and the South Bend Tribune revealed that virtually every officer in a supervisory role had had serious discipline issues in their records.

One officer promoted to sergeant by Windbigler (the chief of the department) has been disciplined more than two dozen times

It isn't just in a few redneck places. It isn't just a few cops. It isn't just a few departments. This is not a handful of rotten apples. These are rotten trees. The example I linked to can be repeated in cities in every state in the country.

What is really stupid is why any of us keep engaging with you. Your unwillingness to see this reality is directly related to your cop relatives, I get that. And if your relatives were good, professional cops, good for them. My fear is the only thing that is going to open your mind to reality is something horrible happening directly to you. Fortunately you're white, so the likelihood is cut by about 2/3rds.

Trump will probably retweet this.

Re: Cops 9: You Are What Now?

Oh look he’s issued a statement

“ News Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees issued a lengthy apology after drawing furious backlash for his comments criticizing people who kneel during the national anthem to protest police violence and racial injustice, saying his remarks "lacked awareness and any type of compassion or empathy."

“I recognize that I should do less talking and more listening...and when the black community is talking about their pain, we all need to listen. For that, I am very sorry and I ask your forgiveness."
