Re: Cops 5: Barney Fife, Now in Real Life!

You get disgusted if someone doesn't lick the mud off a cop's boots, so that isn't exactly saying a whole lot.

He's always the one on the right.

Or, as my father was fond of saying, "he was right: dead right."

Very true. Even known the right-of-way, you have to be careful in what you're doing to make sure the other person at the intersection isn't a complete yahoo. It's defensive driving 101.

See Gear Grinding thread for an explication of this theory.

Female police captain put on leave for saying her colleague has white male privilege

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...-after-white-male-privilege-remark/?tid=sm_fb

This is awesome:

“I was racially and sexistly slurred by Captain Carri Weber while I was asking a question of the instructor in training,” the officer wrote in the complaint. “I am now firmly aware of the discriminatory belief she just verbally communicated. … There is no place in the Plainfield Police administration or supervision for someone who holds and espouses her discriminatory views.”

Something something goose gander.

Live by the sword, die by the word. If your ideology is built on the idea that gendered racial language is by definition sexist and racist, then down goes Frazier.

Re: Cops 5: Barney Fife, Now in Real Life!

I suppose. But in recognizing that doesn't it somewhat negate the uniqueness of affliction that so often (and rightfully so) makes headlines? In fairness that's not how I see things but I thought the remark as it pertained to this story a bit off putting.

My guess - she'll go on paid leave to go to rehab and get counseling, and have to write an apology letter before she can return to her post.

Sometimes, booze brings out the best and the worst in people simultaneously.
