Well, they're on camera and being broadcast to America. Of course they're saints. I would be too.
"Sheriff Joe" and this guy are two more examples that illustrate how we have given cops in this country far too much rope. If we routinely held them accountable for their misdeeds -- nothing more, just held them accountable -- stories like these would become few and far between. But nowadays the default application is to anoint every cop a here merely for wearing a badge when the truth has been proven somewhere on a daily basis that this is misguided at best and tragic at worst. Of all the institutions in this country that need to get their houses in order, law enforcement is at the top of the list.

Most of these cops arent even trained on how to do this. My gf works in the mental health field as a teacher (and her brother was Schizophrenic) so I hear about it often. (the cops get called...A LOT!)
In what country are they doing this?I thought a lot of places now had civilized training for cops and that cops really respond well to it (not the tin badge dictators but the vast majority who are there for the right reasons)? Maybe the places that do it just get a lot of press.
