Re: Cops 3: Shoot low boys -- they're ridin' Shetland ponies!

There was never a chance he would be guilty of Murder 1. Based on what the public has been told, IMO, at least a couple of the other charges should have stuck.

He was never charged with Murder 1, Dano. He was charged with depraved heart (or indifference) murder.

Per Wiki
n United States law, depraved-heart murder, also known as depraved-indifference murder, is an action where a defendant acts with a "depraved indifference" to human life and where such act results in a death. In a depraved-heart murder, defendants commit an act even though they know their act runs an unusually high risk of causing death or serious bodily harm to someone else. If the risk of death or bodily harm is great enough, ignoring it demonstrates a "depraved indifference" to human life and the resulting death is considered to have been committed with malice aforethought. In some states, depraved-heart killings constitute second-degree murder, while in others, the act would be charged with varying degrees of manslaughter.

Why should that get in the way of the anti-police narrative?

CCTV camera footage showed the prisoner van being driven normally and the other prisoner in the back with Gray called it a smooth ride. He also testified hearing Gray thrashing around in his compartment.

I rest my case Your Honor.

Clearly, Marilyn Moseby's animus got in the way of her doing her job. She's a disgrace to the judicial system and should step down.

In Ms. Moseby's defense, there was a riot going on. She may have thought that charging the officers would placate the mob and prevent a city-wide conflagration. That doesn't excuse vengeful prosecution, though.

She will be in a fight for reelection.

And yet, you and the brotherhood will go all ape over us peons wearing seat belts. For those in NH, that thing y'all wear because you have the highest usage rate, they make a big deal out of it out here.

Was this CCTV footage released to the public? Just asking. Might change some of the media narrative.

As for the "Dano" charge...I'm off the case - the Mayor's gonna have da Chief's a55! ;)

Here and here.

To get a conviction, (former federal prosecutor Sheryl) Wood said, prosecutors would have had to prove Goodson acted intentionally, or was so reckless that his actions led to Gray's death.

"That's where they failed," Wood said.

Such charges against anyone are hard to prove, but especially against police officers, Wood said.

The crux of the state's case hinged on whether Goodson intentionally gave Gray a "rough ride"-- police lingo for a bumpy ride in a police vehicle intended to injure a prisoner.

Defense attorneys for Goodson argued Gray tried to hurt himself in the back of the van.

Wood said CCTV video played in court did not prove that Goodson gave Gray a rough ride.

Re: Cops 3: Shoot low boys -- they're ridin' Shetland ponies!

"Wood said". That's what you have?

Did you bother watching the videos? Nothing I saw looked like a rough ride, and I can say I know one when i see one. The judge saw the same thing.

I'm looking for full-fledged verification of the following for the entirety of the ride:

Last night channel 45 showed street cameras tracking the police transport through the streets with Gray in the back. Nothing the driver of the transport did looked out of line with what a normal person would consider safe driving. No, they did not take us through the whole trip, just a few of the turns, but it looked all right to me.

Re: Cops 3: Shoot low boys -- they're ridin' Shetland ponies!

"just a few of the turns"

btw I'm not judging the verdict in any way (for all I know it was correct) but rather some select commentary that insists it was correct without offering much reason why.

And I'm thinking that the news station would've shown any rough turns taken had there been a video recording of it because it would make for television news gravy. The lack of that video during the news broadcast strongly hints to me that there is no evidence of Gray being tossed around in the back by an erratically driving policemen.

I agree with this. If there was ANY controversial footage, media would have pounced on that.

Re: Cops 3: Shoot low boys -- they're ridin' Shetland ponies!

Or it wasn't made available? Otherwise why bring a case if the video evidence irrefutably demonstrates nothing went down?

Was seeing a few things on this, and it seems that the prosecution was over-reaching by a LOT.

Now, I don't know what the reasons were, exactly, but making a name for themselves/the social justice movement/BLM/etc. I can't say for certain, just throwing out what I heard.

"just throwing out what I heard"

So more of this?

I haven't studied the case specifically, just glanced over news articles and heard tidbits from the television. I'm saying that I'm not a completely reliable subject when it comes to this case, I'm just offering what little I know.

Dude, not a shot at you but the sequence of "not much" that repeatedly has showed up here.
