The Baton Rouge video is bad. But I'm guessing the cops won't get charged with anything since they claim the guy had a gun and will say he was resisting.

Apparently we can add bootlegging videos to the list of crimes that earns a death sentence.

LWB. Living while black.

Saw the video. IMO, without any other facts, the video is damming. One point that WILL be of contention: the seconds that the camera panned away.

On my end, as of right now, those cops are done for....

Done for? In what way? Neither will see any time behind bars. The reason they used deadly force on this guy is because they could.

Every other day a cop kills an unarmed person somewhere in America. My guess is 5 years from now instead of 1 every other day it will grow to many every day. For 15 years now we've been bestowing the "hero" title on these Rambos for simply pinning a badge on their chests. We've been watching them militarize themselves to the teeth. We've been watching them become an occupying force with an "it's us against them" mentality in every corner of the country. We've let cop after cop off the hook for doing things this bad and worse on a regular basis. We have completely abdicated our responsibility as a civilized society to say "enough is enough."

Done for my eye.

Wow. How's that tinfoil hat? Guess what, many times the cop is in the right. Do what the officer tells you, etc, etc. See the recent Mpls case, with all 57 videos (or whatever the number was), and all the info released. The cops were justified in what they did. As of right now, these NOLA cops are not justified.

Tinfoil hat? 90 times this year police have killed an unarmed victim, that's a fact. The police are far more militarized in 2016 than they have ever been before, that's another fact. Ever since 9-11 we have been giving cops the hero treatment like never before in my lifetime, that's a fact (I'm old enough to remember entire hockey teams with no helmets and sticks with no curved blades). Study after study has shown in the postmortem of things like Baltimore or Ferguson that members of these communities often use terms like "occupying force" and "us against them" to describe how the police are separating themselves from the communities they are supposed to be protecting, that's a fact. I'll give you the tinfoil hat on the numbers going from 1 every other day to numerous every day in a few years. Until I'm proven right, by the way.

We also see many folks not do what the police tell them to do. Reach for (whatever), resist arrest, etc. The cops don't know these people, they have to make a split-second decision. Guess what? You don't do what the guy with a gun tells you to do, it ends badly. Better to sort it out afterwards (and guess what, get paid via lawsuit).

In most cases, the person with professional training is in the right. In THIS case, even *I* am saying that it doesn't look good at all. In most of the past cases, I have agreed with the judgements because guess what? The (alleged) perp was definitely in the wrong.

Re: Cops 3: Shoot low boys -- they're ridin' Shetland ponies!

Falcon Heights man shot to death by cop.

The video is circulating. I watched it.

IMO, the cop didn't have enough training. Too green overall. I can hear the fear in his voice after he realized what he had done. No excuse, mind you. Manslaughter CONVICTION at minimum, murder is the max. I don't believe he had malicious intent; he really did panic. It sounds like he's trying to convince himself he did the right thing, hence my theory of not enough training. I feel horrible for all involved. :(

It'll probably end up like the last one in Minnesota. The officer and any partners involved will testify his last words were "Sir, I am about to reach for my gun to avoid a ticket for a broken tail light, and therefore, I believe it is in your best interest to shoot me dead" while all other testimony will be deemed "uncredible".

I agree with Brenthoven.

As of right now, with what we have available to us, it doesn't look great at all. However, I'm also not joining the social media Lynch mobs, because I/we don't know all the details and there are 3 sides to every story.

It's a vicious circle that keeps repeating itself, regardless.

Not the Falcon Heights one. Unless something incredible surfaces, this cop should be fired, and put in jail for a minimum manslaughter charge. Again, I don't think he did it out of being racist/biased/etc. I think he did it because he was scared sh*less. And that doesn't excuse him.

Re: Cops 3: Shoot low boys -- they're ridin' Shetland ponies!

It's surreal how calm she is, frankly stating what happened to the officer who is pointing a gun inside the car while yelling and shaking.

Facebook took the video down and deactivated her account.

Massive reports of FB removing that vid, but links to the NOLA shooting are still active. I checked.

She is calm for a bit, sorta, then totally loses it when she realizes that he's gone. It's shock, to me. Once it finally set in, she lost it.

Re: Cops 3: Shoot low boys -- they're ridin' Shetland ponies!

The Falcon Heights cop should be fired yesterday and charged with murder. There is no defense for it...malicious or not.

Re: Cops 3: Shoot low boys -- they're ridin' Shetland ponies!

Why the hell is he still standing there with his gun on him? He isn't going to do jack now. Do SOMETHING to try and help the guy. Cripes this is all sorts of ridiculous. Effing terrible. :(
