Cops 2: Pay No Attention to the Rioters Behind the Curtain

Re: Cops 2: Pay No Attention to the Rioters Behind the Curtain

Oh c'mon, I remember when Zimmerman was acquitted. There were predictions of mass riots, however rioting was minimal, and limited to the local area at most. I doubt it will spread.

Zimmerman was not a police officer, and there hadn't been three similar deaths in the preceding few weeks......

Involuntary manslaughter or criminally negligent homicide and they all plea out so that the DA can prove she got them, meanwhile they can breathe a sigh of relief that it wasn't worse....

What Fish said. Mpls BLM shut down a major interstate, and later on took over a large part of the Mall Of America (that trespassing case is going on now). Add ANOTHER incident? Who knows what they'll do.

That cracker on CNN is a moron. "Arrested unjustly"? You are breaking curfew. Then he went on to say "We are under military occupation!" JFC.

Re: Cops 2: Pay No Attention to the Rioters Behind the Curtain

A sista, arrested, said she's doing this for protest. Not fighting the arrest. Accepting responsibility for her actions. I'm totally fine with that. She's owning up for what she's doing. Kudos.

Re: Cops 2: Pay No Attention to the Rioters Behind the Curtain

Can you arrest people for being absolute morons? "There were beatings!" ALL that media, and no footage? D'okay.

Re: Cops 2: Pay No Attention to the Rioters Behind the Curtain

Plea deal? Over-charge, get the cops to plea to the charge the prosecutor really wanted?

In some states, I thought prosecutors could charge for a higher level of crime and allow the jury to convict on a lesser charge. I'm not up on 50 states of criminal law, so that could be way off base and perhaps something that seeped into my head from a movie - I don't know. At any rate, if Maryland doesn't allow for conviction on a lesser charge, then an overly aggressive prosecutor/DA (perhaps politically persuaded) could result in a not-guilty verdict, which is basically what happened the George Zimmerman case.

That's the flip-side. The state can say "They tried" and the cops are found not guilty.

I am not up on law, just know bits and pieces overall, and I take somewhat educated guesses on things.

Re: Cops 2: Pay No Attention to the Rioters Behind the Curtain

This is where I get criticized.

Although great, I think soldiers are idealized too much. Firemen not enough. And police not nearly enough. There are going to be some bad apples as many don't want such a tough job. But we're all much better for it.

No criticism here. There are bad apples everywhere. Soldiers are just a national/country thing, whereas police/firefighters are viewed as a more local thing. All of 'em should (and deserve) get respect as a whole.

Re: Cops 2: Pay No Attention to the Rioters Behind the Curtain

RIP NYPD officer Brian Moore, murdered at age 25.
:(
Waiting for a statement from the president.....crickets

Re: Cops 2: Pay No Attention to the Rioters Behind the Curtain

Sure, right after he pays individual tribute to all the dead soldiers who fought in Afghanistan.

Re: Cops 2: Pay No Attention to the Rioters Behind the Curtain

And mean about as much

Obama is in NYC. Will he take time to pay tribute to Officer Moore?

What colour was he? What colour was the person who killed him?

It seems that a revolution has begun. Expect martial law soon, just like in Baltimore.
