I had a pretty fair level of confidence that Providence might win this game.

Besides a game we played early in the season to open a series at Miami, I thought the two best games that were played against us all season was on New Year's Eve by New Hampshire (in Omaha, I might add) and by Providence in the National Semi-final. Providence put down the 3 of 4 best teams in the NCHC to get this title. It definitely ain't a fluke.

I am SO happy for you guys! Congratulations -- you gutted it out all through the playoffs and absolutely earned it. Guts, skill and effort.

I'm already tired of hearing about that soft goal... why were you only down by a goal at that point in the game anyway? Maybe because you played well enough to be in that position? Just a hunch. In any event, that was the TYING goal, not the game winner.

By the way, any time you have a Gillies in the nets, I like your chances. Excellent DNA :D

Never underestimate the power of the Holy Sprit.. Jesus made some saves for PC tonight and let a few trickle in on BU. Lord have mercy! In all truth, the BU goalie sucked tonight, in fact the reality is he has let in ****ters all season and Rodriguiez and Jack have picked him up..but not tonight!

Congratulations Providence College. Feel good for Nate Leaman. He gets his title. The one Union won was really his team. Now he has one all his own.

Hint: the NCHC wasn't actually that good, and beating non-conference opponents in October doesn't matter.

Winning a non-conference game against every conference in the NCAA tournament matters. Clearly HEA had the best top end, but 5 first round wins (the only loss being by the conference playoff champion to the eventual national champion) shows the remarkable balance of the conference this season.

OMG, this news just out of Boston, BU goaile Matt O'Connor noticibly upset as a result of his horrifc play in the NCAA national champinship game, arrived back at campus and jumped directly in front of an MBTA bus on Comm Ave. in front of Marsh Chapel, No worries it went thru his legs! He is fine! LOL!

Wasn't impressed by any of the teams that made the tournament. ND played a rebuilding QU team and SCSU who was ONE game over .500 on home ice in the regional. Miami was DOMINATED by Providence. Denver beat a rebuilding BC team and then lost a close one to PC. Omaha beat freaking Harvard and RIT, and then got outshot 48-26 in the Frozen Four. UMD played BU tough, but still lost.

Hockey East is just better. And I'm an ECAC fan.

You pretty much said you weren't impressed by the entire tournament except the championship game teams. Other than the upset of Mankato, every team was eliminated by the NCHC, BU, or PC.

What a great time today in Boston. So many fans from other schools were clearly supporting PC and their pre-game headquarters bar was insane. We were stunned at O'Connor's gaffe and with a few minutes left, the Minnesota fans next to me asked if Gillies was the real deal and after that sprawling save and clear by the PC defenseman right in front of us, just looked at me in disbelief.

So happy for all the PC fans!

This is what happens when a decent team executes a solid game strategy very well. The Friars also played FOR each other. Very deserving. I didn't see every tournament game but I saw all of Provs. Good on em. Congrats. I think one day I'll get to feel what Prov fans are feeling now. I can't wait.

Congrats Providence College, 2015 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! How does that sound and how does it feel? I'm thrilled for you guys, enjoy it. There's no better feeling.
