Commitment List 2013

Re: Commitment List 2013

Updated NCHA commitment list released today.
http://www.d3hockey.com/recruits/2013/NCHA
Two additions for SNC: Mike Hill, forward transfer from St. Marys (MIAC) and Tony Kujava, goalie, played for Green Bay Gamblers (USHL) last season.
Hill has solid offensive stats @ St. Marys and in the NAHL. I would expect that he will start.
Kujava should be a strong backup to Jake.

Heard that we have two additional forwards coming in, both with USHL experience.

Re: Commitment List 2013

I don't know if anyone posted this but Ben Blasko of the Brockville Braves will play for George Roll at Nazareth. He had a stat line of 118GP 55G 118A for 173 Points in his two years in Brockville. He is listed at 5'8 170 and is from Kingston, ON.

News of the day: SNC has picked up a D-1 transfer. The D-Man played for a WCHA school last season. The source did not reveal his name or former team.. The blue line group is shaping up pretty well!!

Re: Commitment List 2013

Can we list the Norwich hockey hopeful freshmen? The freshmen are now on campus, aren't they?

Re: Commitment List 2013

Plattsburgh's recruits all present and accounted for !! In fact, they're all spinning for 7 hours right now for charity, welcome aboard !!

thats a good percentage,I have no idea about Oz, I hope we can come close to that,if so I think the 1st part of the season may b bumpy:eek: with so many new players, but should improve in the second half.......

ok then looks like we have some info THANKS.....that would be 1 more skater and a goalie on top of what I have on my list, thats assuming that all 9 members came back,RJ Berra excluded, good to read, now who are the 2 extra additions, maybe local talent?? Best of luck to all of them its going to be an interesting time.

Re: Commitment List 2013

I wouldn't want to be one of those 8 or 9 returning guys, especially if I was a 4th line type !! Is Gosek "over-recruiting" ?? That's a slippery slope if he is because word spreads quickly through the junior leagues. I think a fair question a recruit can ask is "how many guys are you bringing in?"....I've heard some of today's players asks for assurances of a lineup spot and even playing time !!!

I hate the term "over-recruiting". You can almost never over-recruit in D3 since most of the time you dont even know if these kids will 100% show up when school begins in August of which I can think of a few recent examples that I know either A) a kid decided to come in August instead of another school or B) a kid decided to go somewhere else or play another year of juniors in August. Does over-recruiting happen? Sure, sometimes purposefully, trying to replace current players that havent panned out or in expectation of something else and sometimes accidentally for reasons I mentioned above.

But its also fair to make sure that you should be able to make the team at least coming in since that is why they are recruiting you in the first place, but playing time as a freshman and a roster spot for beyond is only how much you care and put forth the effort.

I believe Gosek knows exactly what he is doing. You also dont want your bottom guys getting complacent knowing that they cant get replaced, cut, etc. Forces them to get better on/off the ice.
