CC at No. 14 seems about right. A lot of quality in HE, WCHA and CCHA.

Is it me or does Sam (Great) Britain seem to be in a bit of a funk?

I know DU's opponents thus far aren't exactly world beaters, but it appears his timing is slightly off.

Thoughts?

I think its more of him trying to get into a groove this season. Nothing too serious to worry about.

I haven't seen anything alarming in regards to Sam.

His stats so far this season are in line with his career numbers:
According to collegehockeystats.net, his career winning pct is .663 and he is at .750 so far this year (.667 in league play), his career saves pct is .925 and he is at .938 this year (.922 in league play) and his career GAA 2.28 while this season he is at 2.02 (with a 2.35 in league play). He hasn't given up more than 3 in a game this year and only has a handful of times in his career, he's been remarkably consistent in net ever since he became a Pio. I know he has given up 3 in each of his past two starts, but I really don't see a big worry here.

You might have a point. Their 3 losses were to Cornell and Mass-Lowell. Their 7 wins were against teams that they should beat. We will find out what they are made of after the next four weeks with DU, UNH, Yale, North Dakota and Minnesota on the schedule.

Dave, great to hear from you, we miss you! I do beg to differ, if we were to ask anyone from Wisconsin they would say that they expect to beat CC especially on their home ice. For any WCHA team to win both nights on the road is rare. I guess I don't understand SCSU Euro, his team is 6-4, and four of those wins are against Alabama-Huntsville and Minnesota State. Go Tigers!!

First off, we didn't defeat our crappy opponents, we destroyed them by a combined score of 22-5 in four games. Secondly splitting with DU and UND is a lot more than CC can say they've accomplished to this point and we did get swept at UNH in our first games of the season but we very easily could have come away with a split there too.

CC's wins have been two one-goal wins hosting Clarkson, a big win at Air Force, sweeping a bad Wisconsin team (Fri in OT) and sweeping Bemidji at home (one by 1). What's the quality win there? Air Force? A bad Wisconsin team?

I am not saying that CC isn't any good... I'm saying they very well could be, cause they seem to be 7-0-0 against bad competition (which give them credit for that, a lot of teams will stumble) but 0-3-0 vs real competition. If they can go .500 through there next fourteen (DU, 1 vs. UNH, 1 vs. Yale, UND, MN, SCSU, UNO, UND again) then I will call them a real team, but I don't see that happening.

And if it makes you feel any better, I think UNO is in a very similar spot.

Also I realize that you can only play the schedule they give you, and that's fine, but I just am not willing to put CC (or UNO) in what I consider the teams that have a chance to win the McNaughton: DU, UND, SCSU, MN. Again, if they get wins regularly over the next month I'll change my tune.

Per Gwoz's press conference today; Sam and Jussi will both play in goal this weekend. Adam Murray is still battling an injury.

Not too bad. Thanks for asking. I don't make it out to too many CC games anymore since my wife and I had twin girls last year. I miss the games but family comes first. How is married life for you so far?
