College Football 2025

Things are not starting off well for Whittingham.
Regardless of how it ended, they suck. The QB was supposed to have gotten better, and he has gotten worse. Like a lot worse.

And the D was supposed to be good, and they held their own until it got to be important, and then got out muscled. From a team that is supposedly weaker and smaller.

I'm really glad I've ignored this team more than not over the summer. They should have lost that game, and didn't earn to win it.

I know Western is good, and very good at that. but the little hype I heard, that wasn't supposed to be close.

I have to say, it's really sad that the fans are celebrating that win as if it was over OSU. Nothing against Western, but it's the first freaking game, and it should have not come down to the last play of the game.

College sports are so litigious these days I wouldn't be surprised if Western goes to court. It's not even questionable. The game was over. The clock was at 0:00 for a considerable length of time before the play ended. That's embarrassing.

The NCAA doesn’t have the balls to do what’s right which is to review the film and reverse the outcome and give the win to WMU who actually did WIN the game.

If that doesn’t happen….
What needs to happen then is all non P4 conferences must unite and cancel all games vs P4 schools and take a stand that until they’re treated fairly the p4 teams won’t have “cupcakes” on the schedule.

I have seen what the replay officials apparently officially saw and it showed 1 second left on the clock when the play should be officially ruled dead.

ESPN has already shown the replay the officials saw, and the same one sent to the MAC conference.

I'm still mad how bad they played. And how uncoached they seemed to play- the stupid alignment penalties, the blatant holding calls that didn't need to happen, and the really obvious DPI. All of those are coaching issues. The blocking was atrocious. And the QB play seems to have regressed.

It's now really sad to look back to the days after Whitingham was hired and how he bragged about keeping the QB. Should have let him go. It would have saved a bunch of money to spend on players who would pay attention to the coaching, assuming there is any.

At first I didn't think it was legit, but then I saw the same video they saw. Seems fine to me.

OK so I am slow. Which is it:
  1. Michigan won honestly, confusion on the broadcast on the time left
  2. Western won but were screwed by a bad clock decision by officials
  3. Western won but were screwed by 1972 USSR Basketball Protocol

Fun fact about the 1972 Russian basketball win. It was their Miracle on Parquet. They were double digit underdogs and they built a big lead despite everybody's expectations. The ending is awful but it's one of the greatest upsets in sports history.
