Oregon has Nike money. Like, a lot of Nike money. Leaving Oregon twisting in the wind probably isn't a good financial decision.
Is Nike worth $750,000,000/yr plus TV market - to the conference?

Doesn't have the TV market but I bet Nike is worth close to the split of TV money to each school. Is Nike worth $750,000,000/yr plus TV market - to the conference?

OTOH, UDub and UO in the SEC would be hilarious.
Just put Hawaii in the ACC and call it a day, lol...
Oh how the plot twists and turns ...

The Big Ten would have Stanford on the phone in minutes if that happened.
Or ND and USC would come together as a pair. They're going to want to have an annual game anyway.
That removes the two private schools from the otherwise-public Pac-12, and the two largest ND rivals. I mean I guess there's a theme there, but I don't think Stanford is your top 2 choice if you want the largest following (and remember I'm the Stanford fan here).
Define: "Following".
The B1G wants media market eyeballs. Getting LA (USC) and SF/SJ (Stanford) is "following" under that criteria.
Don't believe me? Rutgers --> NJ/NYC media market. Maryland --> DMV media market. NW'n --> CHI market. Those three make little sense otherwise.
Northwestern shouldn’t really be used as an example. They’re a founding member from the 1800s. If they didn’t join then they could easily be UChicago or Lake Forest.
True, but that CHI market keeps them in play. Then again, Notre Dame just might be as big in that market.
