Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

This is starting to look like a "classic" AP poll. Just sub USC or Texas in for Clemson and we're there.

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

Clemson had a run from the late 70s to early 90s under Pell and others, and UW had a decent run under Don James for roughly the same time frame. :)

No expansion at Big XII. Sorry, Houston. And... I dunno... Cincinnati?

Houston was the only team on the list worth considering due solely to geography, and it's not like they've been relevant for more than 5 years or so. Easy business decision for the current members too, since if they let UH into the Big X/XII/XLOLOLOL, it just makes recruiting in Texas that much more difficult for the other state schools, and even more-so for the outliers.

BYU and Cincy belong where they are in the current era - occasionally fielding a solid team, nothing more or less. Welcome to the 21st century. If WCHA hockey has to deal with it, so do you football mid-major fckers.

Sucks!

I was Rowing The Boat, but now that Navy looks to have a clear path to the American title I'd like to see them get the NY6 bid. That means WMU and Boise have to lose at least once, though.

THAT is funny. Great find!

Good for the team, could care less about the fans.

RE- Nebraska
I know when Mike Riley was hired, I posted that it was very odd- just like others, as we didn't see OSU being so successful that hiring him was a big piece.

But I will admit they found something there. Regardless of how they finish this season, Nebraska is considerably better than before. Considering how talented that team is- seem like much of that is mental- which is a huge deal.

Good for them.

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

I don't think I've ever been upset by my team's successes before today. Everything that happened in the fourth quarter could have been happening all day, but we have a coaching staff that apparently wants to take a back running like Barry Sanders out, play a QB who has been seen laughing at the misfortune of other QBs more than once, and don't know how to call anything in a short field situation.

Biggest relief was we didn't recover the onside kick after that two point conversion. If we had blown a chance to tie/win after that idiotic call I would have lost it.
